Ancient City of Ephesus
After greeting, we will have 20 mins. Drive to Ephesus area. Ephesus (Rev. 2:1-7), major port city on the Aegean, was the commercial, political, and religious center of all of Asia Minor. After a lunatic completely burned the Temple of Diana (Artemis) on the night, that Alexander the Great was born in 356 B.C. The Ephesians worked for 120 years to complete a magnificent reconstructed temple, one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world. The city became part of the Roman Empire in the second century B.C. As a Roman capital of Asia Minor, Ephesus boasted a population approaching 250,000 people. The Apostle Paul’s first visit to Ephesus was brief—during his second missionary tour (Acts 18:19-21). His second visit lasted about three years—during his third missionary tour (Acts 19:1 to 20:31). Luke’s account of the worship of Diana appears in Acts 19:34-35. The Great Theatre (stadium) mentioned in Acts 19:29-31 could seat 25,000 people. Walk the marble-paved street with grooves made by chariot wheels. See the Fountain of Trojan, the Library of Celsus and the Great Theatre.Visit the Chapel of the Virgin Mary (Double Church), where the Third Ancient Council convened.

5.00My wife & I were extremely happy we chose Curio Travel and Tez was our guide for the day. Tez was very knowledgeable, answered many questions, provided water bottles and detailed pamphlets of Ephesus. Lunch was provided and was delicious. We would definitely choose Curio Travel and request Tez on any future trips to Western Turkey.

3.00Loved seeing the places we went. This was to be a biblical tour and the guide was not as informed about religion as I would expect from someone that is giving a biblical tour. She was quick to point out that only Jews live in Jerusalem. Which even non biblical people know that isn’t true. We’ve been there. The Turkish rug event was a disaster and the sales pitch never ended. Then when we didn’t buy, the owner shamed and guilted our friends to tip the staff. The guide was there the entire time. The also served us an over priced beer at lunch. Then when we got back to the drop off point she wanted us to visit her diamond friend. This wasn’t the only sales pitch we got but you get the picture. In the end we saw a lot of great places and we tipped her well as we know this is how she and the driver make a living.

5.00The tour was perfect! Our tour guide, Tezcan (pronounced Tessian) is so knowledgeable, fun, easy going and very patient! When he heard about our next visit to Istanbul, he recommended some places to visit. We revised our itinerary accordingly and every single recommendation was amazing (he suggested places to go, eat, visit). We're so glad to have gone for this tour and met him. Would totally recommend to every single person I know who will visit Turkey.

5.00My husband and I really enjoyed this tour! The van that transported us was very clean and supplied with cold water. The places we went were interesting and full of history and cultural significance. Finally, the guide was the very best part. He was knowledgeable, relatable and funny. Would totally recommend to anyone!

5.00Visited as a cruise excursion and feel like we hit the jackpot when we got Olgu as our tour guide. He and the driver in Kuşadası picked us up in a clean, well-appointed minivan. As we left the city, we discussed our interests and desires for the tour, and Olgu personalized it for us. We hit all the appropriate places on the tour, as well as a fabulous outdoor lunch at a carpet factory. Olgu took pictures of us, and overall, you could not find a better tour guide. Highly recommend him for a “Personalized” tour.

5.00Milleh Is a superb, knowledgeable, friendly professional, easy to understand guide who clearly knows his material, especially as it is referenced in the Bible (I checked! ✔️), As we explored the archeological excavation of Ephesus, he pointed out areas and events that accurately corroborated the Acts 19 account of Paul’s time in Ephesus, and that Scripture is a true and reliable source of archeology and history—wow! Milleh also loves his country and is proud to show off the varied plentiful and delicious offerings of the lunch that was served; as well as the beautiful and artistic handmade rugs and carpets (we had to buy one!) All in all we highly recommend this guide and trip!!

5.00Our ship was only stopping in Kusadasi for a half day, but we went ahead and booked this tour anyway, and it was perfect. We were able to see all three sites that we wanted to see, Mary's house, Ephesus and St John Basilica. Our guide Inan, was wonderful, he was very knowledgeable of all the sites and was flexible to let us spend the time we wanted at each site. We decided not to have lunch, even though it was included in our tour, because our boat arrived at 1pm and we had to be back on the ship by 7pm. There was a lot to see, but it wasn't super rushed, if we had more time we would have spent more time in Ephesus, but we didn't feel shorted because we had limited time. We were even able to visit a local family's pottery factory which was specific to the area and not in a touristy section of Kusadasi. Overall a great tour.

5.00This was a phenomenal tour. Tez was our guide and he was great! He was very knowledgeable and could answer any question you threw at him. One thing right from the start, he had a driver, so he was not trying to drive and talk to us. We were picked up in a van and he sat in the back with us, so his attention was totally on us while the driver took us to each place. Lunch was delicious as well. Turkey was one stop on our 11 day cruise and we were so glad we booked this tour!

5.00We enjoyed learning the history of the city of Ephesus and seeing Mary's House. Our tour guide Okaff was wonderful as well as the lunch. Okaff gave us valuable advice regarding the vendors. We were taken to a beautiful leather shop where we saw a fashionshow. Don't feel obligated to make a purchase.
