Ephesus Ancient City
After greeting, we will have 20 mins. Drive to Ephesus area. Ephesus (Rev. 2:1-7), major port city on the Aegean, was the commercial, political, and religious center of all of Asia Minor. After a lunatic completely burned the Temple of Diana (Artemis) on the night, that Alexander the Great was born in 356 B.C. The Ephesians worked for 120 years to complete a magnificent reconstructed temple, one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world. The city became part of the Roman Empire in the second century B.C. As a Roman capital of Asia Minor, Ephesus boasted a population approaching 250,000 people. The Apostle Paul’s first visit to Ephesus was brief—during his second missionary tour (Acts 18:19-21). His second visit lasted about three years—during his third missionary tour (Acts 19:1 to 20:31). Luke’s account of the worship of Diana appears in Acts 19:34-35. The Great Theatre (stadium) mentioned in Acts 19:29-31 could seat 25,000 people. Walk the marble-paved street with grooves made by chariot wheels. See the Fountain of Trojan, the Library of Celsus and the Great Theatre.Visit the Chapel of the Virgin Mary (Double Church), where the Third Ancient Council convened.

5.00We booked this tour because my mother has mobility issues and I was afraid the cruise ship tour would go too fast for her. I’m so glad I did!! Our guide, Melih, was waiting for us just outside the customs building as promised. After a short walk to the vehicle, he proceeded to give a knowledgeable and interesting narrative of Ephesus now and from long ago. The tour lasted approx 6 hours We visited Mary’s house, Ephesus, and the temple of Dianna. Then we had a delicious lunch and watched a rug-making demonstration. The rug salesman was friendly and not too pushy. We had the option of visiting a local ceramics workshop and a local leather workshop. We chose the ceramics shop and were impressed by the hand-made items! Melih was very attentive to how much we walked and made it a point so walk slowly. I am so thankful that he was patient with us!
Phenomenal Experience! Don't Hesitate!

5.00Cannot say enough about our Ephesus+ tour with Melih. Our party of 8 STILL talks about this day as a favorite from our Greece/Turkey cruise. We walked the streets of Ephesus at a leisurely pace while Melih narrated our steps. Ask for Melih .. I'm telling you he is phenomenal! Incredible knowledge about Ephesus from our Christian perspective. The Mercedes van had us riding in style and the authentic Turkish lunch provided was so much fun ... and delish! Family-style dishes that were replenished as needed. SO much food. We were a little skeptical about stopping in a Turkish rug weaving demonstration and showroom, but it was fascinating ... a must see! Such a wonderful day that we will never forget!

5.00Gorkem was a wonderful tour guide and we had a fantastic time touring Mary resting place , the ruins of Ephesus were amazing and way bigger than we had expected. After h ing a traditional lunch we stopped at a rug making factory next door and ended up buying a Turkish rug as our souvenir for the trip. The process of making them is amazing and they have all styles and sizes and the ride back was very picturesque . This may have been the high,Ishtar of our entire 30 day trip to the Mediterranean !!

5.00We had such a great experience with Yasar and our private tour of Ephesus! Very reasonably priced and our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly! We even had a nice stop at a turkish rug dealer, but way overpriced.

5.00My wife & I were extremely happy we chose Curio Travel and Tez was our guide for the day. Tez was very knowledgeable, answered many questions, provided water bottles and detailed pamphlets of Ephesus. Lunch was provided and was delicious. We would definitely choose Curio Travel and request Tez on any future trips to Western Turkey.

5.00The tour was perfect! Our tour guide, Tezcan (pronounced Tessian) is so knowledgeable, fun, easy going and very patient! When he heard about our next visit to Istanbul, he recommended some places to visit. We revised our itinerary accordingly and every single recommendation was amazing (he suggested places to go, eat, visit). We're so glad to have gone for this tour and met him. Would totally recommend to every single person I know who will visit Turkey.

5.00My husband and I really enjoyed this tour! The van that transported us was very clean and supplied with cold water. The places we went were interesting and full of history and cultural significance. Finally, the guide was the very best part. He was knowledgeable, relatable and funny. Would totally recommend to anyone!
