Ephesus Ancient City
This enclosure for archaeological remains at Ephesus elegantly reconciles historic conservation with accessibility for visitors. The site of a succession of great ancient civilizations, Ephesus, on the south-west coast of modern Turkey, embodied a peculiarly fertile synthesis of architecture and culture. In 356BC the Greeks built the Artemesium (a colossal Ionic temple dedicated to Artemis the fertility goddess) which was one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world. During the 2nd century BC, Ephesus was the fourth largest city in the eastern Roman Empire, famous for its Artemision, the Library of Celsus and its medical school..
The Temple of Artemis
The Temple of Artemis is known as one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world. It has been built in the areas of Ephesus on a flat area which has over the centuries turned into a swamp. If you visit Ephesus today, you can only see the ruins of the foundations of this marvelous construction of the Hellenistic Age, entirely made of marble and full of sculptured columns' capitals and shafts. The most beautiful remaining of this temple are today exhibited in the London British Museum. The oldest remaining found date back till the 6th century BC. It was surrounded by 36 huge columns, later enlarged upon the orders of the Lydia King, Kreisos, during the 6th century BC. Most of the exhibits in the London British Museum belong to this period.

5.00Nur is an amazing tour guide! Very knowledgeable and catered the tour to what we wanted to see which included an extra market stop. The local lunch was delicious, learning how they made the carpets was very interesting and the leather fashion show was so cool. I really liked that the admission fee to Ephesus was included so we didn't have to worry about that. She was early to pick us up at the port and got us back with plenty of time to board.

5.00Navi was an excellent guide for us in Kusadashii and Ephesus. She was very knowledgeable and able to change our schedule around for us. She was a pleasure to have as our guide for the trip. We highly recommend her. Our driver was very helpful going where we wanted to go. Our lunch was delicious and our stop in to see original Turkish carpet making school was incredible.

5.00We had an incredible time with Melike earlier today. There were no other participants on our tour, so my wife and I had her undivided attention. And this young woman really knows her history! We really appreciated her in-depth explanations at both Ephesus and the Temple of Artemis. We also enjoyed Mother Mary’s house. Excellent lunch as well. Also wanted to thank our driver Engin for keeping us safe. Highly recommended!

5.00Had a great time on this tour. Mrs Nur was on time (actually early) picking up at the airport and communication was great! Was very accommodating on adopting the tour schedule to what I wanted to see. Very informative and friendly. Highly recommend!
