  Our tour guide, Luis, was amazing. Great conversationalist, knowledgeable, and very kind. The car we drove around in was great. Luis knew so many facts about Altun Ha. The scenery was amazing. The food we ate at Sungem Restaurant was delicious and the environment felt like our own oasis. The Cave tubing was a lot of fun. We had a different tour guide for that one named, Junior, and he knew a lot about the area. I would highly recommend you wear bug repellent, water shoes, and cover your body for that part of the excursion as there were a lot of mosquitoes.   We loved being able to experience two major sights in one day. Junior was so good with keeping us entertained and educated during our long drives and Abel’s driving kept us on schedule!

  Altun Ha Mayan Temples and Cave Tubing Paradise with lunch was an amazing experience. Our guide, Luis, was incredibly knowledgeable and fun. He shared insights on everything from economics and history to geography and local lifestyle — you just had to ask. We kicked off the tour at Altun Ha Mayan Temple, a site rich with history and meaning. After that, Luis took us to a secluded, hidden-gem restaurant run by a lovely woman with a warm smile and great energy. The food was delicious. Next, we headed to the cave tubing spot for another highlight: floating through a pitch-black section of the cave, then drifting down a beautiful lazy river while birds chirped around us. Amazing day from start to finish. Luis was the #1 host. Highly recommend!

  Nelson was a nice and informative driver and guide of the temples. He passes us off to Eric for the cave tubing and he was so nice and informative as well and I felt so safe with him. We had a great time! I’m not a fit person but this was great. The tubes were waiting at the cave entrance for us and the walk there was leisurely and flat! Loved it!

  We had the pleasure of booking this full day tour with Luis and Abel. The excursions for both the Mayan ruins and the cave tubing were amazing. Abel is by far, the most informative and entertaining tour guide. He provides your with so much cultural knowledge and information that we were hooked from the very beginning. Punctual, efficient and savvy. We recommend this tour for anyone that wants to learn more about the Belizian culture and more.

  

  

  

  

• More Than a Great Tour Guide

  I would give TEN stars if I was able to. The communication, friendliness, patience, empathy, expertise, and for someone to go away above and beyond for us happened even before I booked the trip. I had actually booked this activity for my whole family with another tour company. But, when I reached out to ask for the exact address for the meeting place the phone number was either not correct or was not clear and how to contact them and the only way to contact them was through email which I did not get a quick reply. I finally had to go through their call center and spoke to two agents who didn’t know the meeting place address either and finally had to reach out to the tour guide for this information. The guide finally responded to my email with an address that was still not clear so I decided to look for a similar activity from another tour company and that’s when we were connected with Luis at Cave Paradise. He responded right away with information about the activity. I told him I was looking for a full day of 2-3 activities, which he said he could accommodate. He even answered my questions about everything that was included in the activity. When I asked him if we had to get shuttled into Belize city because we were already in the jungle, he said no I would be happy to come and pick you up at your lodge and save you the trip, which many other tour companies did not even offer. So I canceled with the first tour company and scheduled it with Paradise Cave. Then I received news after I booked the activity and found out that my passport was not going to arrive on time before our flight. That was very upsetting news for my entire family. We had no other choice than to send my family ahead without me and we were all devastated and hoping that my passport would come in the following day. Luis had already texted me very quickly to all my questions and was just so great and answering all but I had to tell him the news of me not attending the activity that was scheduled for Tuesday because I wasn’t sure I would arrive either Monday or Tuesday. So I had to cancel the activity and reschedule it without me and for just my family. I think I was so upset about the situation. I booked the activity incorrectly for the wrong day. Luis texted me right back and told me what I had done and I was so upset about that because nothing seemed to be going right for me and he just calmed me down and said everything will be all right. Don’t worry about it. The trip can still continue as planned. I happen to mention to him that if I came in Tuesday night that we still had half a day on Wednesday before we had to arrive at the airport for our next vacation leg and with that information, he said well why don’t we just change the tour for Wednesday? I can still pick you up do all the activities and then drive you to the airport and drive you to the airport in time for your flight. Oh my gosh, that was such a relief. It was so nice. He really wanted me to participate in the activity with my family, which was just so sweet of him going above and beyond and trying to make things work for our trip. The next day I was so happy because I found out that my passport got in on time that I was gonna be able to fly out on Monday so I could still do the activity so I told Luis I would go ahead and add me to the booking. I couldn’t change my family‘s booking already so I was just gonna purchase one more ticket for myself. But unfortunately, it would only let you purchase a minimum of two people. Again, he told me not to worry he would work it out and I could pay on the day of the activity again, Luis just being so patient, so kind, so empathetic of my situation and really trying to help me have peace of mind that he would take care of us and everything would be great and it would all work out and it did. I got into town. I was there for the activity as planned, he showed up at the front of our lodge. It was so great to meet him. He was very knowledgeable at the Belize zoo that we went to. We went to have a fantastic Belizian lunch and then we went to the Mayan ruins. He told us all about that even on the drive there he told us some of the history about Belize. He told us about himself and his family and it was just very pleasant. He was just very very nice. I mean just like we had known him forever. We got done with activity. He took us dropped us off at the airport and everything was just like he promised, and it worked out great. He was the most wonderful and friendliest people I’ve ever met and just so accommodating to all our needs. You don’t meet a lot of people that care that much about making people and families happy. So, if you are in Belize and want to do a tour with Paradise Cave ask for Luis, you definitely will not be disappointed because he goes above and beyond to make everything great and make everybody happy. Have fun.

  Our driver and guide for the ruins and part of our tubing was Eric. He was very entertaining and accommodating Explained the history of the ruins and even on the ride through the villages of Belize city. Our river tubing guide Enrique was also very accommodating to a more relaxed pace for my 75 year old mother..and let's be honest, also me (37). The hike was about 30 to 45 minutes, brief moments in the sun but mostly under shaded canopy from the trees. You do some mellow river crossings so make sure your shoes are not simple water shoes, you need one with good soles. So many different types of plants and trees to learn about. If you look down while walking, you see little cutter ants transporting their leave back to their colonies ever few feet. We then stopped for lunch and had a delicious belizian chicken stew meal and headed back to San Pedro

  We had a private tour with the Ten Star General and he made the day amazing!! Our trip was fantastic and by the end of it we had a lifelong friend. 💯 recommend him and look forward to coming back and having him guide us…..

  Luis was fantastic! Great communicator, took good care of us, super knowledgeable, patient. The van was very comfortable and convenient, all food and fees were taken care of. Abe we didn’t even have to carry our inner tubes! Highly recommended!

• Perfect Excursion Day!

  Hands down tge best excursion from our cruise! Abel was attentive and knowledgeable. He worked hard to time everything to get us back to ship with plenty of time. Soooo much better than taking ship tours with a 100 of your closest friends! Because our ship had different timing than others in port, ours became a private excursion. Altun Ha was really amazing . But have to say the cave tubing was definitely a highlight! Lunch at a small local restaurant was really good as well. I would definitely recommend this to all my family and friends!
