A tour of the three districts in the historic center of Sassi with panoramic stops and curiosities about the recent history of the city of Matera: from a national shame to a city known and appreciated worldwide.
The route lasts about an hour and in this time visitors will be able to observe the Piano area, that is the part behind the Sassi and learn about the historical places from another perspective.
The Piano area is actually the first area built immediately after the Sassi at the turn of the Renaissance.

5.00An excellent excursion for this magnificent city. The tuk tuk handled by Vito is a delicious experience. It gives a good picture of the whole and then tour the Sassi on foot. Highly recommended.

5.00This is a good introduction to Matera and a panoramic ride if you don't have too much time to explore the city. In 45 minutes you will see the major sites and have a sense of the town layout to later explore at a more slower pace, or like in our case where didn't have more time, leave us wanting to return to this incredible place. The drivers (we had two vehicles being a party of 5) were helpful, professional and friendly.

Poor Scheduling Process

1.00We booked this in June 2025 and they did not schedule a time for the tour at that time. The day before the Ape tour , they assigned us 1615 time slot which I informed victor we could not attend as we had another aviator tour that was prescheduled. Their response was that was the only time they had thus I asked to be refunded and did not hear back from them. I am not certain this is the correct forum to ask again for a refund, however I would like a refund as the issue is with a poor scheduling process unlike the 3 other viator activities that we were able to book and schedule months before our arrival in Italy.
