Our guide, Laurencia (?), was quite knowledgeable. She is a local to the area and was very informative. We were fortunate in having a small group. Her English was very easy to understand. We did go in early February, so there were not any big crowds.
Rain or Shine - Matera is worth the visit!

Despite some nasty weather, we had an awesome tour with our very thoughtful guide Lorensa. She has been a guide for 12 years in Matera but only started doing them in English this year - her English is excellent. She made a point of sharing really interesting little tid bits along the way, and made sure we stayed safe on the slippery steps. The Sassi is truly beautiful and haunting at the same time - it is extraordinary to think that people still lived in these caves only 75 years ago.

We did the morning tour, which is a highly recommended solution, with low costs and time. The guide Patrizia proved to be very prepared, helpful and friendly. Too bad only the Arctic cold due to the wind, but that obviously does not depend on the organization!

Great tour! Our guide was so knowledgeable and was so nice to wait for us when we couldn't find parking. Go early so you can find a spot and walk to the meeting place! We went into the Sassi and visited spots we wouldn't have been able to find on our own. .

Route with very suggestive stops and curiosities. Absolutely to do. The female guide (unfortunately I can't remember the name) made a place that is already its own even more wonderful. Rating guide 10 and honors with added honors. Passion culture and sympathy distinguish her. Just good.

Our guide was knowledgeable and the walk was enjoyable. However be aware that if you are driving to the event, Matera is a very busy town with limited parking. Perhaps Viator could suggest parking options.
