Enjoy a small-group tour from Avignon to discover Arles and Camargues with an experienced guide.
During this full day tour you will visit Arles, where art and history meet in perfect harmony, and then go to Aigues Mortes (fortified 13th century town) where you can walk on the walls and visit the 13th century Tower Constance. A 2 hours stop in Aigues Mortes includes the lunch break.
You will also see the Camargue, and its pink flamingos, white horses and black bulls in their natural habitat. You will then visit the Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, a cute sea side resort and also visit the Bird reserve park.

Aigues-Mortes
Discover a fortified city which was the departure point for crusaders in the 13th century. King Louis IX (later beatified Saint Louis) chose this location for leaving by boat for Jerusalem for the 7th and 8th crusade. Lunch break in one of the many restaurant of the historical town. Admission to the 13th century Constance tower and the walk on top of the walls overlooking colourful salt lakes are included.

5.00Anne was a great tour guide, enthusiastic, a font of knowledge and great fun. She was helpful and provided unique insights. It was a full day with surprises, Spanish dancers and more. We were lucky to go as there were only 3 of us, so Anne took us by car. As we were already in Arles, Anne agreed to meet us there, rather than having to get to Avignon first. It was wonderful to get to the ornithological park. The flamingoes were wonderful

5.00We had an amazing day with Anne as our guide and driver. The trip is very diverse and at the end of the day you feel like you’ve seen so much. We were miraculously not rushed - always time for coffee / lunch / ice cream but I think I would love to come back to some or most of these places for a few days next time… very special. We started the day in Arles with a walking tour and a short coffee break. We then proceeded to Camargue area, saw some beautiful white horses and bulls; arrived at Aigues Mortes an intact walled town where you can walk the full circle on ramparts. There was also a bull festival going on with lots of people and music. We also visited a beautiful town Saints Maries de la Mer - which was so relaxed, sunny and pretty… do climb up to the church roof if you are there. And finally we spent some time with flamingos and many other birds in a bird reserve and it was so beautiful… we only had an hour and one can easily spend half a day. Pre-sunset time is absolutely the best there. Thank you Anne for a great tour :).

3.00I was disappointed with the 'wild' ponies as they belonged to a farmer and we just drove past a field of bulls, didn't stop!

4.00A very enjoyable day. We visited Arles and visited the main sites related to Van Gogh's time in Arles. We also visited Aigues Mortes and walked the ramparts of the town. We didn't see any wild horses. It seems there are few of them left in the wild but did see them in ranches where you can do trail rides. Saintes Maries is a small town and I would have preferred less time here, though we did sit at the beach for a while and looked out on the Mediterranean. The last stop was an ornithological park. Lots of flamingos and other birds and would be appreciated by birdwatchers.

5.00We were so happy we decided to book this tour. It was such a great experience. I loved the variety of what we saw; ancient cities, the Mediterranean and the ornithological park. I have never seen or heard so many birds in one location. It was amazing. A highlight for me was seeing flamingos for the first time. We especially loved the way the tour was organized. Our guide provided history and other useful information and then we had time to wander and discover on our own. Kelsey was a delightful tour guide. I would highly recommend her as well as this company.

5.00Well deserved five stars...from start to finish. Kelsey was an excellent guide, giving the just amount of information. Thought it was a delightful mix of town and countryside. Lots of high points but highest was seeing the flamingos.

3.00Arles was not very interesting to visit, not a lot of interesting historical sites or history was presented. The city of Camargue was amazing and well worth a visit. The afternoon was okay, but the guide was very poor in communicating what was being visited.

5.00We had a great time on our all day tour. The pace was very nice, with enough time to explore on our own. As described, Anne took us on a walking tour of Arles, pointing out various historical sites associated with Van Gogh and the Romans in particular. Then we traveled to various places in the Camargue, including Aigues Mortes, the beach, and an ornithological park. At each stop, she would give us an overview of the place and then let us explore on our own for from 45 minutes to 2 hours (lunch stop). It was all very interesting, and we are so glad we spent the day learning about this part of France with Anne.

5.00Kelpie is extremely competent, friendly and informative. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We loved Arles, Aigues-Mortes and the wildlife reserve on the Camargue where we saw many unusual birds and even a beaver. We would recommend the tour and Kelsie unreservedly to any potential clients.

5.00Great tour. The roman ruins and sites painted by Van Gogh at Arles were wonderful. Then Aigues-Mortes and Saint Marie de la mer were a pleasant surprise. Of course the white horses were fun to feed and the birds were absolutely amazing to see. A great and varied experience!
