Avocat Waterfall is absolutely beautiful. An easy hike along the river, which makes it accessible to even the non hiker, practically anyone. When you get there, you experience a powerful waterfall that cause an updraft of wind which blows your mind. A beautiful pool for swimming, shallow and deep sides.Hiking up rivers, climbing through uncharted rain forests where your leader follows only his knowledge of the forests. While walking you will see, experience and learn of the natural history of this magnificent rainforest. The walk ends at the seventy-foot waterfall, where swimming in the small pool at the base of the falls is our objective. Relax while getting a natural massage as you sit at the foot of the falls.

1.00First and foremost, this was my very first time visiting Trinidad and I was expecting to enjoy the sights, the food and most importantly the tours with its great hospitality that I'm acostumed to. This is the far from what actually took place for my sister and I this past week. The first issue was that after I received my booking confirmation the night prior to the tour, No one reached out to me to confirm a pickup whatsoever. I attempted to contact the tour guide directly for over an hour and a half and never responded. I had to reach out to customer service directly who Also attempted to contact the local tour guide with No success. It wasn't until 2 hours after speaking to customer service that someone named Richard, from Layover Experience Tours Co, contacted me about the booking and assured me that he was going to meet me where I was in about 44 minutes which turned into an hour and then finally 2 hours afterwards. He sat in his car which I've also included a photo of it and never approached me, my taxi had to call him and he answered his call but Not mine. I never expected for him to arrive in a personal vehicle as ive always booked and its some sort of company vehicle or a group that are participating as well. He finally exited his car and went straight to the bar to order a "stiff drink", after chitchatting with patrons sitting at the bar, he came over to us to attempt to justify himself by telling me that the booking was received late, his phone died, and that he was stuck in traffic. He Never took accountability of his lack of professionalism and lied directly to my sister when she confronted him about smelling of alcohol, with the following statement, "ma'am I don't drink alcohol ". He further stated that he would be refunding my money for the booking after 4pm which clearly did not happen either. He had the audacity to tell me to Not embarrass him in front of the other customers which were sitting there after he wasted my ENTIRE morning waiting on him to show up and not enjoy my experience as I planned to do so. The most ironic thing that he said was offer my refund and still attempt to complete the tour, to which I clearly responded,"we are not going Anywhere with you being drunk, I will be reporting your behavior for sure" and we walked away. I am extremely disappointed in the way that I looked forward to enjoying this day and it was completely ruined. As a tourist, I always enjoy learning the country that I visit, whether it's alone or accompanied, I book the tours the day before and Never have had an issue. This left a complete and utter bitter taste in my mouth and I will be recommending to my family and friends to Never book a tour with this company again to ensure that they don't run the same struck of unpleasantness that my sister and I did on our first visit here to Trinidad.
Great rewarding hike through the rainforest

5.00We had a great experience thanks to our guide Mitch, who was very considerate and made sure we were able to enjoy the hike and the waterfalls safely. The hike to the waterfall through the rain forest was fun and involved crossing the stream multiple times. Recommend good water shoes for this hike. Afterwards we spent some time at the Maracas beach enjoying the bake and shark with a beautiful backdrop of the bay. Thanks Mitch for an unforgettable experience.

5.00My Sister & I went on this tour with Mitch who was amazing , he took his time and guided us from the hike to the waterfall. I can tell he’s done this a lot lol. We stayed about 40 mins at the waterfall which was truly amazing. (The hike to and from the waterfall is about 1hr) I’ve been coming to Trinidad since I was 2 years old first time I made it to a waterfall . We stop at few bar along the way I love a good cold stag ! .. overall I would recommend this tour with my boy Mitch you won’t regret it . Sidebar if you don’t like long walks thru mud and trees this not the tour for you.

5.00We had a wonderful experience with this company, thanks to the honesty and professionalism of Mitch. He called us personally to inform us that our planned visit to Avocat Waterfall and Marcas Beach was canceled due to weather concerns. He explained that rain in the mountains can lead to dangerous flash floods and falling trees, making hiking unsafe. While initially disappointed, we truly appreciated his judgment to prioritize safety. We rebooked privately for another day, and during our hike a few days later, we saw the evidence of fallen trees in the rainforest. We felt reassured knowing he put our safety first. Highly recommend his responsible approach!

5.00Mitch is the best and spending a full day with him on this waterfall tour was a true blessing! We had so much fun and adventures on top of learning a lot more about Trini’s nature. I highly recommend to book a tour with him! We would have definitely booked more trips if we would have had more time! But that’s a good excuse to come back 😁! I can keep on going, but to summarize our tour experience: it was an amazing day, filled with so much more than we could have ever wished for! And on top of that we had great conversations and Mitch is a great photographer as well 😁! Thanks again Mitch, keep up the good work and I can’t wait to meet you again soon 🤗!

1.00We were booked for 930 AM. The tour operator called me around 830 asking if we could reschedule for 1:15. He stated the river was too high or something to that effect. We agreed to the 1:15 pickup time. We were outside of our hotel by 1:00 PM anticipating their arrival. At around 1:30 I called the tour operator on the same number he had me on earlier to check on his ETA. He did not answer. We never were able to experience this tour as the operator did not answer, nor did they call to inform of us any delay or cancellation. We have requested a refund from Viator. I do not recommend this tour.

5.00Rich was an exceptional tour guide. He accommodated me at the last minute when I booked at 5 am for a tour starting at 9 am. He was well-organized, knowledgeable, and ensured that we had an unforgettable experience while prioritizing our safety. Rich provided us with more than just a visit to the waterfalls; he gave us a comprehensive tour around Trinidad. The experience felt very personal. Rich even extended his time with us and allowed us to make stops along the way to various stores. I highly recommend this tour when you visit Trinidad.

1.00DON'T BOOK!! This operator is HORRIBLE!! The phone number doesn't work, they don't reply to Viator's messaging, and THEY CERTAINLY DON'T SHOW UP!... This appears to be a norm for them! They don't even have the decency to remove their account from the platform so that people's plans aren't ruined. Oh, but, payments still get through to them! 😡 Luckily, I was able to salvage the day and I enjoyed my birthday with a late start with Los Exploradorestt Ltd after this company's no show from 0930 - noon. I was given a refund of the cost of the tour but it's still less than what was actually charged to my PayPal. This operator needs to do the right thing; have some integrity and bow out. And, Viator needs to cancel their account on the platform! Stop ruining people's vacations!
