Your Guide will accompany you up and down the Ben Nevis Mountain path. They are there to provide you with advice and information about the path and the history, and the nature of Ben Nevis.
Your Guide will know the mountain well and will be fully qualified and insured for the activity that they are leading.
You will need to be properly equipped for your day and for all possible weather. You should have the following kit.
- Comfortable walking boots, preferably waterproof, that provide ankle support.
- Waterproof jacket and trousers.
- Socks.
- Baselayers are to be worn next to the skin. (not cotton)
- Comfortable walking trousers. (not jeans)
- Warm mid-layers. At least two, one to wear and one as an emergency layer.
- Hats and gloves.
- Head torch
- A small personal first aid kit. Plasters etc.
- A flask and/or drinks bottle, 1L should be enough.
- A rucksack. Anything larger than a 30L pack will do, and a waterproof liner
- An orange emergency survival bag.

5.00Great experience. Cal was an excellent guide and we had 2 very enjoyable days learning winter skills and climbing Ben Nevis. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to hike the amazing peaks in Scotland

5.00Scott and Elite guides were a saviour at getting us booked at short notice. Our guide AJ was fantastic and we could no way have made it up without him! His knowledge of the route, when to break and add / remove layers was spot on! Also great company! Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of doing Nevis - especially in the winter!

5.00If you're thinking of a guided hike up Ben Nevis just book with these people, our family just completed a winter skills day and Nevis hike in some serious snow and really loved it, we cannot fault Elite at all. From the start Elite communicated well and were professional in all our dealings with them. James was our guide and was well organised, patient, reassuring and worked well with our groups pace whilst still managing to give us a gentle nudge to test ourselves which was all welcomed ensuring we got to the Nevis summit on a cold and snowy February day. What an experience, can't recommend it enough if you like a challenging adventure hike.

5.00Despite the extraordinary wind, my 14 year old boy and I had a fantastic time on the mountain. I can highly recommend this adventure and Elite Guides. Our guide, Craig, was excellent and a pleasure to spend time with. I would definitely use Elite Guides again and would recommend them.

5.00Such an incredible hike with James at Elite Guides, he kept me motivated and was great at advising me on all the best techniques. Really made it enjoyable and gave me the confidence to take on more hikes in the future. Also big thank you to Scott for such clear communication and organising it all! Will definitely be using them again and highly recommend for anyone taking on the challenge! Especially in winter - the weather is no joke and i wouldnt of been able to do it without Elite Guides support

5.00My wife and I had an amazing day climbing Ben Nevis for the first time with the wonderful help of James. James was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and attentive during the entire trip. Loads of fascinating information and advice for future walks/climbs too - could not recommend more. Scott was also very helpful in getting everything sorted at fairly short notice too.

5.00Scott was very friendly and nice. It was late october, we hiked Ben Nevis via tourist trail. I was not quite fit enough and He was very supportive and waiting with great patience 😄 The trail is tourist friendly and the top was amazing, rainbow and broken spectre was our bonus that day! Thanks Scott and Elite Guides! Definitely will recommend Him for colleagues!!

5.00Communication with Scott was brilliant as we had to delay and postpone several times, he was very helpful. On the day our guide, Tom, met us at the visitor centre and was fab. He was chatty, informative and good fun. He was always keeping an eye on our pace and well-being. I felt confident climbing with him and it was much better than trying on our own. Tom also kept us informed of the route, what to expect and how long each bit would be. Can't fault any of it... Highly recommend.
