Berat is a lovely city of whitewashed buildings, nestled up the side of a mountain on both sides of a river. It’s very interesting to see the traditional Ottoman architecture. Our tour also included Berat castle and the museum of medieval icons, which were stunning. Our driver and tour guide Soni was wonderful. He was informative and an excellent driver.

Had a tour with Inspire Me World Travel to Berat in December 2019 and it absolutely blew us away! Tirana itself was beautiful, especially at Christmas, but Berat is a fantastic mix of history and culture - the churches, museums and castle grounds are beautiful in their own right and also have fantastic panoramic views across rural parts of Albania. Equally though Berat, has a unique centre, busy and with the postcard view of the house windows across the river. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly, good drivers (which is a massive bonus in getting around the country where driving is reliably erratic!) and with local food and drink included, it really was a wonderful day and would recommend to everyone and anyone planning on visiting this remarkable country.
