  Perfect one day tour to Lan Ha Bay. Unlike many other cruises that go to crowed spots in Halong Bay, Jade cruise go to very private spots in Lan Ha bay. we see no crow at all! Food is terrific! Cruise facilities are very beautiful and comfortable. Not too many people in the cruise, which makes it more special. Staff super friendly. The only downside is that they dont have sparkling wine per glass in the menu. But I certainly recommend the cruise.

  Pick up at Hanoi Opera house, as our homestay was not directly in the Old Quarter. Comfortable 26 seater bus with leather seats arrived on time. Guide San was very professional, helpful and ready to answer all our questions. The bus stopped halfway to Ha Long for a 15 min break at a store/food/toilet station. A second stop at a pearl farm was not announced and not really necessary, but working in tourism, I understand the concept. We arrived after cca. 2,5 hrs at the marina. The 2 story ship with a sunny deck was nice with clean, cinnamon perfumed toilets and very helpful staff. There was plenty of tasty food. Ha Long Bay is very crowded even in off season, but no wonder, it is just breathtakingly beautiful. The Amazing cave is truly amazing! We arrived back in Hanoi around 21.30. Tired, but full of exiting memories. The trip was worth every penny in my opinion.

  

  

  

• A beautiful day

  Such a fantastic and luxurious day. We were picked up at our hotel at 7am in a lovely van with recliner seats and aircon. We picked up one other couple from a nearby hotel and then headed on our way. I think it took about 2 and a 1/4 hours. When we were nearly there we made a random stop at a pearl outlet - the only negative of the trip really, I just didn’t see the point as we were practically at the harbour by then. We waited for about 25 minutes there and then drove the 10 minutes round to the boat - we boarded at 9:55. The boat was brilliant. The aftermath of covid means there was only 17 of us for the day on this huge boat so it was amazing. We had a little introduction chat from Vinnie the tour leader who speaks great English. Then explored the boat and enjoyed the views for a while. You can sunbathe on the top, there’s a jacuzzi on the front or you can sit in the air conditioned bar and order drinks - they go on tab and you settle at the end. The serve lunch early - around 11 - so worth noting not to eat a huge breakfast! Food was ok. Slightly limited choice for my partner who doesn’t eat fish but he was able to have the beef with rice. After letting lunch go down we anchored up and a couple of locals rowed towards us on wooden boats. We were all given life jackets and traditional Vietnamese hats and boarded the boats. They row you out near to the rocks and take you through a little tunnel into another clearing. They call it a cave but it’s not really. Still beautiful though and there’s monkeys living in the surrounding trees which we were lucky enough to get sight of. Back on the boat for a while and cruised to a different area before anchoring up again and given life jackets. We then all when out in pairs in kayaks and paddled round one of the islands. Then we all jumped in and had a swim in the open water. They had a big foam mat off the back of the boat that you could lay on and a platform off the side that you could jump off. We had over an hour to spend doing that which was the perfect amount of time. They provide towels and a shower to dry off after. On the way back we were shown a quick demo of making spring rolls and got to roll our own, then they bought out some snacks - spring rolls, fruit and cakes which we enjoyed along with some cocktails from the bar (paid for but reasonable). The crew were all lovely and attentive but not ‘in-your-face’ - just right. We got back to the harbour to meet our driver around 5 and were back at our hotel by 7:30pm. • Awesome Ha Long Bay Even Better Because of GREAT TIME IN JADE SAILS

  It’s our first trip to Ha Long Bay and we will surely be back next year - and WITH JADE SAILS AGAIN! We have had one-day & overnight cruises in other countries, but this one with JADE SAILS on 13 December was by far our BEST SHORT-CRUISE EXPERIENCE! The VIP shuttle/SUV picked us up from the Hilton Garden Inn on Phan Chu Trinh (the hotel recommended this company among several to choose from) and we had a very comfortable 2-hour ride from Hanoi to Ha Long Bay. The bucket seams came with massaging options, the Wifi was strong and there was drinking water for all. Our driver asked us several times to feel free and ask for a “pit stop” anytime, and he did stop at the Pearl Farm where we had delicious coffee. (Sadly, I’m so forgetful of names). Upon arriving at Ha Long, we were promptly & efficiently escorted to the ship. Kevin very kindly helped me manage the 1.5 deep step from the dock to the ship. We were the last to board (due to my creaky knees), but Nam, our cruise director did not make a big deal out of it, nor did he call attention to it. Very tactful! (It is things like these that make a big difference to the enjoyment or disappointment of the guests!) Nam very clearly explained our schedule for the day & amazingly, the schedule worked like clockwork, because the crew was efficient and got things done! Lunch was exquisite! The soup, the salad, the poached salmon and the scallops were presented beautifully and were delicious! The dessert was very good - a take on New Orleans’ Bananas Foster at Brennan’s, but even better! We opted not to join the boats going to the caves, or the kayaking, but we had a very relaxing afternoon watching the scenery- with the cool breeze and the perfect afternoon weather, In all our travels, meeting new friends make the experience more enjoyable! We made new friends with guests from Texas, Madrid, Sydney, Norway, and some young men from HaNoi on a holiday. What fun it was to join the cooking class! We prepared spring rolls- outdoing each other with our wrapping prowess, and goody! Not 15 minutes passed and the fried spring rolls of chicken, shrimp, noodles, 2 kinds of mushrooms and onions was served to us promptly - with fresh fruit, pastries, sliced rolls, and Vietnamese VODKA spiked with orange juice! What a nice, GENEROUS, unexpected bonus to our trip! (It wasn’t mentioned in the brochure that we would be served a nice afternoon repast!) Many of us probably wished the day wouldn’t end yet, as we had such a great time, with no hitches or unpleasant incidents - thanks to the SKILL OF NAM, KEVIN, the STAFF, the CHEF and the pretty, gracious WAITRESSES! I wish I could remember the name of our driver, but please do thank him from us! Thank you all, for giving us wonderful memories of Ha Long Bay, your hospitality and your vibrant country! • Excellent tour

  This tour ticked all the boxes. We only wonted to do a day trip from Hanoi and this tour gave us lots of time to take in the scenery kayaking and swimming in the bay the lunch was excellent and our tour guide William “Nam” did a excellent job at looking after everyone and was very helpful as was the rest of the staff this tour went smoothly from booking to pickup and drop off to our hotel traveling to the bay was very comfortable and relaxing we would recommend this tour 100% Ken and Denise Australia
