In a 3,30 hrs walking food tour you will dive into this world of culinary experiences, during which you will try only the best dishes of each restaurant and tapas bar. Sipping a glass of wine or local beer you will be able to feel this unique lifestyle, based on hard work but also moments of pleasure, social life and relax. We will walk through the beautiful streets of the old town, passing by the most famous monuments, while our local expert will give an insight into the history and culture. Please, bear in mind that the tastings here described may slightly change due to the season and the availability of our partners.
Plaza Nueva
You will start your culinary adventure from this iconic monument, a church devoted to Saint Nicholas, patron of sailors. After a quick introduction to Bilbao and Basque Country, we will move towards Plaza Nueva, one of the most vibrant spots in town and here you will discover what Basque cuisine has to offer. Indulge in the most local pintxos, of course served with traditional drinks that matches perfectly to these ingredients. Some examples? croquetas, huevo mollet, Patatas a la Riojana or Morcilla or Grillo!

5.00Gonzalo was fantastic, had a fantastic food tour of Bilbao to celebrate my Mum’s 60th birthday. Great attention to detail and really got to visit all of the local spots. Would highly recommended!

5.00We really enjoyed our time with Gonzalo for this tour! He is very conscious of the service he’s providing and wants to deliver a great experience. He speaks English fluently, asked about any allergies/food preference, and is very knowledgeable having lived in or near Bilbao all of his life. He is extremely qualified with a masters degree in gastronomic tourism, so that, paired with his great taste, results in a tour of pintxos and drinks from the best bars in town that feels conversationally educating. We were only in Bilbao for the day so this was a great way to experience the gastronomic side of the city with a limited amount of time. As a plus, he was kind enough to send a list of recommendations for where we were staying (San Sebastian) so we could continue to experience amazing restaurants we wouldn’t had otherwise known about. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone looking for an authentic and pleasant experience. Just a reminder to wear comfy shoes as it is a walking tour with intermittent stops throughout. Bilbao Pintxos Birthday Tour

5.00What a wonderful experience. This was our first time in Basque Country and we wanted to get a feel for Pintxos and how to order them. Our guide, Kaya, did not disappoint. We met her at a central easy to find location just outside the old city, where we instantly made a connection. We were lucky that the weather was perfect that night and to make things even better, it was just the two of us on the tour. Kaya took us to some fabulous pubs and food shops where she explained all the different items we could order and suggested some amazing beverages to try out. All delicious! She also provided history of Bilbao as well as Basque culture. During the tour we bumped into some of Kaya’s friends and family which really added to the experience. Bilbao may be a big city but it has a tight-knit community feel. Bilbao was truly the highlight on our trip throughout the Basque region. Kaya bought my husband a traditional Basque dessert for his birthday that night and sang happy birthday to him Basque. This was so kind making him feel very special. As we parted ways, Kaya gave excellent recommendations of bars to check out that night. Bilbao is such a clean and walkable city and most importantly, has an amazing food scene. Later that week, Kaya messaged me Pintxos bar recommendations in San Sebastián/ Donostia since she knew we were heading there next during our trip. Going above and beyond! We could not recommend this tour enough and be sure to ask for Kaya as your guide!! Thank you Kaya for making our tour/trip so memorable!!!

5.00We had a wonderful time with our guide, Gonzalo! He was very knowledgeable about the city/history and took us to sample some amazing food and wines. We had a wide variety of things to taste and all were delicious - we certainly didn't go hungry! We loved the places he picked to take us. Gonzalo also gave us recommendations on where to eat during the rest of our visit. The food in Bilbao was fabulous - a great place to do a foodie tour with Gonzalo!
