  I'm an avid bird/wildlife photographer and always travel on my own so it's really important I find the very best private guides to make the most of my time and enjoyment. Pablo is your man! Loads of fun with excellent English, he's incredibly knowledgeable and very professional. He takes his job (or should I say passion) seriously and knows both Gambia and Senegal like the back of his hand. He also knows all the other guides well and keeps his ear to the ground about what birds are around and where the special species are. The thing that struck me was his work ethic and commitment to nature conservation which is very close to his heart. He's desperate to help the up and coming youngsters protect their beautiful country through education and encouragement. He cares, and he really wants them to care too. Pablo is a great driver (he has a Rav4 4x4 with air conditioning) and is totally reliable. He's also great value (better than other more expensive guides). If you are looking for someone to help plan some glorious outings to see wildlife as well as other cultural interests then I can't recommend him enough.

  2nd time in gambia, 2nd time through this top guy booked our trips. Always stays with his group during the activity, super sympathetic, drink during excursions including (or at least with us), knows his job, specializes in birdwatching but also shows with love the other things in his country. Always takes you to local people / places. Also provides good information not only about the excursions but about the way of life but is also always available for all kinds of practical questions

  Already from the bridge you can spot many birds. An added value is a beautiful walk and boat trip of +/- 1h30 where you can spot beautiful birds during the boat and walking trip. 15€ per person I find very expensive for Gambia.

  We had a great time with Pablo! He sure knows where to find beautiful birds and takes you on a safe trip. We both felt very comfortable with him and we recommend his trips.

  I was with Pablo in one day trip. We visited 3 places and Pablo was attentive to show all birds around. Pablo is very kind and I felt safe all time. We met the day before so all logistics were confirmed.

  Pablo booked accommodation and provided lunch and drinks for the 2 night trip to Tendaba. Saw lots of great trips and also Pablo organised the boat trip from Tendaba Camp

  I have been with Pablo on many bird watching trips and covered most of the popular places. Pablo is a good birder, he helped pick out lots of birds not least a Long crested Eagle in a distant tree whilst on our way back from Tendaba Camp. Pablo knows all the local guides at the different places he visits which is invaluable to find the more shy birds. I travelled with a very experienced birder on this occasion and he commented that he would have preferred to stay longer in some places to check over the area for other species with his scope, however, due to time this was not always possible. Overall Pablo provides a good service, I think he could improve his service by taking note of the more avid birdwatchers requirements and tailor his day to their needs by asking what they want from his services. I recommend Pablo to anyone with an interest in birds and nature, he is good company and I, as a person interested in birds and taking pictures, have always enjoyed my time with him.

  Pablo is an excellent guide. He is an expert at spotting birds and explaining the various bird species endemic in The Gambia.

  We booked this trip before we left not knowing what to expect but we were not let down. Pablo was a very good guide and we seen over forty species of birds including quite a few rare ones including nightjars and owls. We would certainly recommend Pablo for birding trips , a very capable guide and very knowledgeable on wild life. Hope to go out for more trips next time.

  Pablo knows his birds and is a delight to be around. I am pretty amateur when it comes to the art of avian watching, but Pablo was patient and had resources on hand to help me learn. I would highly recommend this tour guide! I would like to go back and do an overnight tour after having done the half-day version. I particularly respect that Pablo cares about his community and their surrounding environs. His tours are part of larger efforts to uplift his village and protect its natural gifts.
