The Tour to the Ballestas Islands begins at the craft and tourist dock of El Chaco. We will board our boat with 02 outboard motors that will take us to the wonderful Ballestas Islands, the most important wildlife sanctuary on the Peruvian coast, where we will observe sea lions, silly birds, pelicans, penguins and other seabirds.

Definitely the highlight of the Tour to the Ballestas Islands are the sea lions or sea lions who steal everyone's attention due to their curious behavior (they sleep, "pose for the cameras", or simply socialize and live without problems since occupy the top of the food chain in the area without natural predators).

The Chandelier

We stop after navigating 10 minutes to be able to carefully appreciate a northern point of the Paracas peninsula. Where you can look at, photograph and film the Chandelier where the tour guide will briefly explain about the measurements, materials from the area and their possible origin.

The navigation continues and after approximately 15 minutes from the Chandelier you will arrive at the Ballestas Islands where you will have 30 minutes to appreciate a great biodiversity thanks to the Humboldt current and the upwelling phenomenon as well as other factors such as the sun and winds. Bird watching lovers will find a large number of these such as: seagulls, boobies, cormorants, pelicans, vultures and Humboldt penguins. Crustaceans, echinoderms, mollusks, seaweed and others will also be seen. Definitely the highlight of the Ballestas Islands Tour are the sea lions who steal everyone's attention due to their curious behavior (they sleep, "pose for the cameras", or simply socialize and live without problems because they occupy the top of the food chain in the area without natural predators). The return, of about 40 minutes of navigation, becomes relaxing and enjoying the sea breeze is a natural anti-stress.

It was a beautiful experience seeing the peninsula and crossbow island. Sea lions and penguins in their habitat beautiful!! The guide told us a lot about its particularities and the history of the island.

It was a fun experience. The boat was full but didn't seem over crowded. Got to see the Candelabra which was great. Saw a few penguins but they were high on the top of the island.

Great boat tour taking in the key landmarks of the islands and the opportunity to see lots of birds and sea lions. Great guide who was willing to answer any questions we had. Would definitely recommend as 2 hours felt about the right amount of time

This boat tour was absolutely amazing! 🌊🐋 The entire team went above and beyond. They were so knowledgeable and shared fascinating information throughout the trip. 📚 They also made sure everyone on both sides of the boat had a chance to take stunning photos. 📸 They even went out of their way to help us look for a whale we had briefly spotted earlier, which made the experience even more special. 💙 I can’t recommend this tour highly enough. It was truly unforgettable! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a very good experience exploring the islands. We saw a lot of interesting wildlife including sea lions and penguins. Our Captain got us very close up without disturbing the animals. Also our guide Oscar explained the wildlife very well and spoke good English.

We had an amazing time during the 2 hour boat tour to the ballestas islands from Paracas (with paracasexplorer). the guides knew a lot about the nature and the animals that we saw. We’ve seen penguins, sealions, red headed vultures and a lot of different types of birds. It was a great experience. Really recommend doing the tour when you are in Paracas.
