The Paracas National Reserve consists of the Paracas Peninsula, coastal areas and tropical desert. It provides a sanctuary to 74 species of plants that grow in this extremely arid area, and to 216 species of birds, 16 types of mammals, 10 species of reptiles and 193 species of fish. The protected natural marine area covers 3350 square kilometres, 65% of it is sea and 35% land and islands. It is considered as one of the richest and most uncommon ecosystems in the world, but in all honesty the attraction is not only the wildlife, but the beauty of the ocean and desert landscapes.

Pick up from your hotel in Paracas, where you will board our vehicle for your private tour to Paracas National Reserve. During the trip into Paracas National Reserve, you will have the opportunity to learn more about this beautiful place by visiting the interpretation center, an interesting building that displays through photos, all the fauna, flora, and many others important facts about the Paracas Peninsula. Afterwards we will drive throughout a lifeless desert till we reach an area where once stood a great natural rock formation known as the Cathedral. Unfortunately this old formation did not withstand the 2007 earthquake. At this place you will have amazing views of the desert and the blue Ocean. Driving along the shore of the ocean passing the beach of Yumaque. After some time you will arrive in the little fishing village of Lagunillas, where you will the opportunity to enjoy great Peruvian food at any local restaurant. Finally you will return to your hotel. End of the service.

Boat and Buggy tour

5.00This was brilliant. We did a boat tour to the islands to see Seals, Penguins and birds. Then had an hour break before going on a buggy tour through the national park visiting multiple beaches and driving the buggy through the desert. Completely safe, follow a private guide and see many incredible sights. Worth doing!

5.00We benefited from a well organized and well informed excursion. The Paracas National Reserve is stark and dramatic with awesome sights. The team led by Jose did everything possible to ensure that saw and understood the key elements and they were diligent in keeping us safe at all times.

4.00The tour involved 4 stops in the Reserve. The commentary was minimal. However, we enjoyed the information that was shared as well as the stunning views. The tour was very laid back and relaxed. We did feel it was overpriced given the tour was basically transportation to and from the Reserve.

5.00This was a fun day! Logistics were seamless and everything occurred as described. The reserve itself was stunning! This was a new landscape and environment for us to discover and we loved it. Our guide, Brian, looked after us, gave good commentary on what we were seeing, and allowed for plenty of photo ops. The beach walk and high tide line discoveries were fun. We saw flamingos, oystercatchers, black vultures, pelicans, and lizards, amongst other unidentifiable (to us) critters. Recommended for a short, non-water based, activity.
Don’t skip this tour.

1.00trip advertised seeing seals, birds and penguins. What it didn't say that the animals were seasonal and we chose the wrong season. I would have picked a different tour if we had known

3.00Our guide, Juan Carlos, was great. But, the tour company was very disorganized; changing pickup times & locations, not communicating clearly to customers, and actually leaving some of our group who had to be driven out to join us. Now, there’s not a lot of “there” there in and around Pisco; it’s really just a port call to enable cruisers who went to Machu Picchu to reconnect with the ship. So, don’t have high expectations for this port of call. Having said that, a tour of Paracas Reserve is probably the best of many lackluster things to see/do there.
