Kralendijk

Experience the best of Bonaire with our informative shore excursion around the Island. We will cover charming nature, history, and cultural highlights with a local professional guide. We start at the music booth at Cruise Market Place in Plasa Wilhemina, situated in the capital of the Island Kralendijk. From here we head to some of the Islands best landmarks like Goto Lake and Seru Largu. Our air conditioned vehicle gives you the comfort to take in the beautiful views this Island has to offer. Kralendijk will show you the 19th century City Hall, the Fort, and the island's first protestant church, built in 1847. Cruise along Bonaire's famous coastline and enjoy the breathtaking ocean view. The area's rustic landscape is home to iguanas, goats, wild donkeys, and unique birds such as the lora, a parrot found only in Bonaire.

Rincon

Your next destination is Goto Lake, is a saltwater lagoon near the island's northern end and it is a flamingo hangout. Bonaire is one of the few places in the world where pink flamingos nest. The shy, spindly-leg creatures, affectionately called "pink clouds", are magnificent birds to observe. Travel through tree-lined country lanes to Rincon Village, Rincon Village is the oldest village on Bonaire. Additionally, it is the oldest in continual existence within the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba. We then visit Washington National Park covers one-fifth of the island's surface and is a vitally important and protected part of the island's ecosystem.

The actual tour was amazing. Our tour guide Andrew was very entertaining and informative. I give him and the tour a 5 for that. The problem I had was that we were told we were going to Sorobon beach and we were dropped off at Eden beach which is a diving beach. Not a swimming beach and we were supposed to be there for 2 hours. The beach experience was the whole reason we took the tour. That was not a good experience at all. We were unable to even get down to the beach. We had to take a taxi back to the shop or wait 2 hours just sitting there. So we had to pay for a taxi ride. But, as I said the rest of the tour was awesome. We got to see a lot of the island and the town and salt mines. The slave hits were very interesting. We saw wild donkeys, iguanas and lizards. Andrew is great.

We saw so much of the island and our guide was fantastic. Lots of background information and plenty of time at each stop.

The tour itself was good. We enjoyed seeing the salt flats, slave huts, and island itself. However, although our guide knew a lot, she did NOT allow ANY questions. Whenever anyone tried to ask a question, she would say, “It’s on the tour. Relax and enjoy the tour.” That is the FIRST time we’ve ever experienced that on a tour. We understand that a guide has information to share, but a guide should also be willing to have guests ask questions.
