• A very pleasant and relaxed morning exploring just a couple of places near Brasov

  Florian was sweet, down to earth, informative, yet eclectic. He fetched us from our little flat overlooking the main square in Brasov early on a Saturday morning, drove us the 40 mins or so to Rasnov to a very touching bear sanctuary and then across to Bran, where, after a coffee, we visited the Castle and he helped us buy the tickets. Wow is it touristy! We'd wanted to visited Peles Castle as well but hadn't booked this excursion till the last minute so it was impossible to get tickets. Afterwards he dropped us at Brasov station from where we travelled back to Bucharest. All in all a splendid morning.

  I am now home in the UK and had the most amazing experience of touring Braşov and castles, monastery, history, architecture, war and communism. Florin is SO knowledgeable and his ears must bleed from my questions. He tailored my personal tour to ensure i saw so much and extra. I saw The Libearty bear sanctuary which was fantastic! I saw the whole of Braşov and the difference in architecture due to different influences ie. Saxon, Austria- Hungarian, Romanian and communism. I saw the castles of Bran and Peles and learned about the past Romanian Royal Family before communism. I learned how the Royal family especially the Queen played a massive part in WW1. I went to an orthodox monastery and saw the beautiful murals in all including churches. And then the icing on the cake was going 1400 metres up into Carpathian Mountains on a Gondola - like a mini cable car, and on the way back down a stop at a natural spring from mountains to fill up water bottles. Not to end there. A bite to eat “mici” in a non tourist area - delicious. And then a trip to Romanian vegetable fruit meat and cheese market so Florin can get his bbq delights. Followed by a very lovely coffee to meet with Lowra or Laura and two gorgeous dogs at his house. Then a trip back to Airport and now I’m home. As a single female now 63 I had an amazing time and I can only accredit this to Florin Ilea’s. I wouldn’t have got this with a tour company. This was so personal and unique! I could go at my own pace and I got so much more than a herded tour. My best holiday ever. I stayed in Braşov and it’s so safe. Thankyou my friend Florin Ilea’s and I’m sure I will see you again.   Florin was a wonderful guide. He was very flexible and changed the itinerary so we could catch a 3PM train to Bucharest. We got a good look at a fortified church, a citadel in Rasnov and of course, Brans Castle.

  This was a private tour. Florin, our tour guide, was the most memorable part of it. The mountain views, Bran Castle, the beautiful church in Cristian, and Citadel were interesting and scenic but it was Florin's kindness and willingness to answer each and every one of our many questions that really made the trip memorable. Florin also paced the trip perfectly, listened to what we wanted to see, and planned it so we wouldn't arrive at venues when they were crowded. Also, the friends with whom I was traveling brought their (very well-behaved) dog with us. Florin ensured at every stop that we weren't turned away despite having the dog with us. I can't recommend him highly enough.

  Florin was absolutely the best guide we've had during our honeymoon trip to Europe. He patiently picked us from the Airport and brought us around Brasov for a few days. Absolutely accommodating and he also knew where all the places are, be it the tourist destination or recommendations off the beaten tracks. It's his kind personality that makes it all comfortable to tour with him! Highly recommended! When he discovered we wanted to try out some local cheese, he even offered to give us some of the chives and plants that he grew at home just to make the experience more personal and authentic. • The true gems of the tour were the churches

  Even though the tour included the touristic favourites Rasnov Fortress and Bran Castle, the true gem of this tour are the fortified churches. Those are required to be unlocked by their caretakers, and were both truly stunning.

  We went on a tour with Florin just before New Years and he was very surprised that we were romanian, as most of the people he is touring with are foreigners. Although I know a lot of things about my country, Florin let us know about the specific german side of Transylvania. A lot of precious information and I will surely use it in the future. The tour is also well thought due to it including various objectives from different types of buildings which are relevant to this area's historic complexion. Thank you very much for your guiding and a happy new year, Florin!

  VERY AMIABLE AND KNOWLEDGABLE GUIDE. He began with a short conversation about Romanian geography and history. Then we were off. You should have some lei (local currency) for church admissions, and you will save considerable time if you buy the Bran tickets in advance. Allow most of a day for this. Truly delightful and informative.

  Florin is the absolute best ! he picked us up at the airport and gave us a 4 day tour of Transylvania, showing us MUCH more than we had bargained for !! hidden remote villages where life has been the same for centuries, this was the true beauty of this tour. Florin is extremely knowledgeable and a super safe driver, I highly recommend his services for a very thorough tour of Romania and Transylvania !!

  I went on the Fortified Churches, Bran Castle, Rasnov Fortress and Poiana Brasov Resort Tour with Florin and had a great time. First of all, Florin is very accommodating and he was willing to tailor the tour to best fit my needs. At one point I saw an interesting church that wasn't part of the tour, and he even stopped and gave me a tour of that! Secondly, the tour had a nice, leisurely pace and it never felt rushed or unmanageable. I had more than enough time to walk around, take pictures and ask questions. Florin offers great tours at reasonable prices. I hope to visit Brasov again in the future and I am glad I now know a good tour guide in the region.
