  Awesome experience! Our tour guide was Anna Lo she’s super knowledgeable, kind, and very attentive. We wanted to try something different and saw other recommendations about the tour, I’m glad I booked it. Tacos were amazing! We learned how each food stand specialized in something specific. How the stand was started and that eventually it was passed down to family members, sometimes expanding to more food stands. We loved everything we ate and enjoyed the specialty waters that each stand creates. My 10 year old daughter who is not an adventurous eater tried things. She learned she enjoys soft tacos to crunchy ones. My favorites were the carnitas and Birra crunchy taco. I highly recommend booking this tour if you are ever in Puerto Vallarta. Vallarta Local is such an amazing company to work with and they are women owned, LGBTQ friendly, environmentally friendly, and focus on charities.

  Annalo was excellent as a tour guide. Showed us a side of Puerto Vallarta most don’t experience. Authentic tacos - each place had history you could taste. Loved them all but don’t miss Mi Esperanza and carnitas Don Gil!

  Not just a food tour; this is a 2+ hour story of the local vendors, their relationship with the city, and their history. The food is amazing, too, and Chacha knows each stop on a deeper, personal level. By the time you’re done, you’ll feel like you know some of these people on a first name basis, and you’ll want to come back again to PV just for this experience. We severely underpaid for this tour, given the quality of service!

  ChaCha was an incredible guide. Fun and encouraging to practice speaking Spanish with. SO MUCH FOOD! Women and Mexican owned company that gives back to the community! We revisited the spots to eat many times during our trip.

  We had the pleasure of doing a private tour with AnnaLo, and she was absolutely wonderful. One of our planned food stops happened to be closed, but she pivoted instantly and asked what we preferred instead. She ended up taking us to a beautiful handicrafts shop and a delicious candy store, which made the tour feel even more personalized and special. This was actually our third tour with the company, and the consistency is incredible. On multiple occasions during our walks, past guests stopped our guides just to thank them for their recommendations — which tells you everything you need to know about their impact and reputation. We even spotted our guide Chacha eating at one of the taco stands from a previous tour, which made us laugh and also reassured us that their recommendations are truly legit. All the food stops are locally owned, clean, fresh, and have great turnover. Even with sensitive stomachs, we felt completely comfortable and well taken care of. The guides are knowledgeable, warm, and clearly passionate about local cuisine and culture. This food tour remains one of the absolute highlights of our trips to Puerto Vallarta, and we can’t recommend it enough. And one important note: book directly through their website. Doing so allows more of your payment to stay with the guides, the business, and the local community — and they genuinely deserve it. A must-do experience every time we visit. 🌮✨

  Excellent tour highly recommend. Chacha was a great guide and very knowledgeable. She knew so much about the city and the places we ate at were delicious, the food and drinks. Take this tour, it’s by locals, women ran and supports locals.

  Our group of 12 had an incredible time on this private tour in PV with ChaCha & Star. From start to finish, everything on this tour ran seamlessly. ChaCha was our engaging, knowledgeable guide who seamlessly brought the history and culture of Zona Romántica to us, and Star was our stellar support, running ahead to each stop to make sure everything was ready for us, before we arrived. We really felt like they cared about us and our experience, and we genuinely appreciated the overall community-focus we saw behind everything they did. The food and drinks were the absolute stars of every stop! The places we visited really felt like off-the-beaten-path, hidden gems (with prices that blew our minds). The walk between stops was easy for the wide range of ages in our group, and absolutely necessary with how much food we ate. My husband (the skeptic) even commented how it didn't feel like your typical, pushy/sales-y tour. Our friend even went back to Tacos Los Morenos EVERY SINGLE DAY after! We were afraid he might not make the flight home. Kidding! We highly recommend doing this tour at the start of your trip so you can discover all the best local spots early-on. It was the perfect mix of culture, flavor, and heart that we were looking for. And we will absolutely book with ChaCha & Star of Vallarta Local the next time we’re in Puerto Vallarta!

  My wife and I had an incredible time on this taco tour! We explored a variety of taco stands we would never have discovered on our own, and every taco was absolutely delicious. Our guide, Annalo, was fantastic—warm, knowledgeable, and full of fascinating insights about the dishes and local history. She made us feel like we were catching up with an old friend. The two other guests on the tour were delightful and added to the great vibe. If you’re a food lover like us, this tour is well worth the price.   My friends and I received a private tour with ChaCha and had a fabulous time. We were able to try tacos from 6 different locations and ended with a paleta. PV is exceptionally touristy so it was so nice to be able to eat food that locals eat, which honestly is above and beyond anything you’d receive in one of the places on the streets near the beach. She also answered a lot of our questions about the culture and had a great sense of humor. A fabulous tortilla :p
