Explore the very outer Great Barrier Reef in luxury and style with Calypso. The custom designed vessel will take you to Agincourt or Opal Reef, both regarded as some of the most significant sites on the Great Barrier Reef. Snorkeling is the easiest way to experience the reef or try an introductory dive, no experience required. For the advanced divers, certified diving is available. Diving within 48 hours of flying is not recommended. All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire prior to diving. Some pre-existing medical conditions (eg asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving, please consult your doctor

Additional dives may be booked and paid for on board (subject to availability). Maximum of three dives in a day.

Children under the age of 12 years are not permitted to dive.

Evidence of dive certification is required from all divers wishing to participate in a certified dive

Children must be accompanied by an adult

If its raining on your day of travel, the tour will still go ahead. If Calypso cancels due to poor weather, mainly high winds, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund

Cancellation fees may apply if less than 24 hours notice is given prior to departure

The day was perfect: From the moment we stepped on board the team took excellent care of us. We felt safe and the service was brilliant. I have never scuba dived before, so I booked the introductory dive. We could not have had a better instructor than Irene. She is funny, knowledgeable and makes sure we all learnt and remembered the basics to be safe on our dive, all whilst keeping us comfortable at all times. I can't thank her enough for showing us around the reef on a guided dive. Originally we had only booked one dive, but since the tour stops on three different locations, we asked whether we could add on more dives. There were spaces left and for a reasonable surcharge, we got to go again. I will definitely do this tour again and I would book at least two dives right from the start - It is a mind-blowing experience. Plus you still have the chance to snorkel at the third stop. The food onboard was great and there was plenty for everybody. The tour company also provides all the equipment and stinger suits to be protected from jelly fish, though we did not encounter any. I highly recommend this tour, if you want to see the reef and dive with turtles and the full cast of Finding Nemo. A day I will remember forever. Thanks again Irene and the whole Calypso team!

Fantastic experience from Port Douglas! Our excursion went to 3 different snorkeling sites and they were all so amazing! It was super organized and we were happily exhausted when it was over!

We went to the Opal Island. Amazing, in the same category as snorkeling in the Galapagos. Would totally recommend this tour. The guides were great.

This company is very well run. Everyone we interacted with was professional and very friendly. The ship was clean and food really good. We did 3 dives in one day and they made us feel safe and excited. We saw amazing coral and sea life . Our guide Ruth was a great person and made all feel very comfortable. Loved that we were broken up in to small groups .
Great snorkeling experience for the family

Great fun for the whole family! My two kids went snorkeling for the first time and it was a great first experience. They provide wetsuits/"stinger suits" so you don't need to be worried about getting bitten by jellyfish (which you will see on occasion up close in those waters!) We went to three different sites and saw lots of beautiful reefs, colorful fish, an occasional turtle and small sharks (no fear, they are small and only eat fish!). There were two marine biologists on board who guided the snorkelers in the water and also provided a lot of education about the reefs, the rainforest and the sealife during the trip. Lunch (nicely organized sandwich assembly line) and fresh fruit, cookies and brownies are provided by the tour, as well as fresh water and tea. Soft drinks and beer can be purchased once the snorkeling has concluded at an additional cost on the boat. Bring lots of sunscreen and a hat as we had a picture perfect day; no clouds that day and the sun is real strong especially in December. Overall a great experience! Highly recommend!
