Explore the very outer Great Barrier Reef in luxury and style with Calypso. The custom designed vessel will take you to Agincourt or Opal Reef, both regarded as some of the most significant sites on the Great Barrier Reef. Snorkeling is the easiest way to experience the reef or try an introductory dive, no experience required. For the advanced divers, certified diving is available. Let Calypso take you to the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef and explore the rich and diverse coral gardens.

Environmental Management Charge of $7.00 per person is included in the fare from 1st July 2023

Diving within 48 hours of flying is not recommended. All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire prior to diving. Some pre-existing medical conditions (eg asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving, please consult your doctor

Additional dives may be booked and paid for on board (subject to availability). Maximum of three dives in a day.

Children under the age of 12 years are not permitted to dive.

Evidence of dive certification is required from all divers wishing to participate in a certified dive

Children must be accompanied by an adult

If its raining on your day of travel, the tour will still go ahead. If Calypso cancels due to poor weather, mainly high winds, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund

Cancellation fees may apply if less than 24 hours notice is given prior to departure

Cruise & 1 Certified Dive

Cruise & 1 cert dive with a PADI dive master. All snorkel/dive equipment, morning tea, lunch & afternoon tea included. Certification cards are required.

Everyone had fun. They enjoyed the snorkeling, the food and the trip as a whole. It is a great opportunity to see the reef and wildlife responsibly.

Calypso was a great tour company in all aspects. From questions answered months before the tour to seeing us safely away, each team member was exceptional. While everyone was helpful, notably our PADI, Nick, was a patient instructor with me, and made my husband’s intro dive at the Great Barrier Reef his favorite part of our trip. Also, Jospehina in the tour shop went way above and beyond by helping us to find a way back to the ship before it took off that evening. Thank you to the captain and crew for going to great lengths to keep us safe on really choppy seas that day.

Excellent experience. My husband and I were both going to dive but due to having a medical condition (asthma) without an official note from a Queensland physician certified physical examinations for divers, I was unable to do the dive. Totally understood as this is a safety concern and I still snorkelled and had an incredible day, and my husband still did the dive and also had the best day. The instructors were all great and extremely professional, and the marine biologist on board was excellent and gave a lot of detail about what we would see that definitely added value to the experience. The food/snacks also great. It was quite rough going out on the way to the reef so definitely take the anti-emetic they offer! Highly recommend this experience overall. (Maybe health questionnaire sent out in advance of trip would be helpful to ID those who have contraindications to diving/potentially get exam to allow for diving?)
