São Miguel island is replete with waterfalls, and this tour offers you the chance to discover six of them in one day!
Hike on some of the best trails of the island, along water streams, surrounded by the dense vegetation of the Azores! Reach stunning waterfalls of different kinds in various settings!
If you feel like jumping in the water and swim in the beautiful natural pools, we’re not going to stop you!
We have selected the shortest routes to the best spots of each trail, so that you experience more than one in a day!
A picninc lunch is provided, to make sure you have fuel for the full day!
There is much else to see and learn on the tour, from the island’s nature, to water mills, a beach and even tea plants.

5.00First, we would like to give our sincerest thanks and appreciation to our guide, Joao. He is very enthusiastic, knowledgeable and very professional. This tour was fantastic and the spectacular views were worth the effort on the challenging hikes. A little bit of perseverance and you are definitely rewarded with beautiful waterfalls. Joao ensured that we were comfortable and safe throughout the day. The lunch provided was generous and tasty. We would definitely recommend this trip to anyone interested in visiting this extraordinary island.

5.00First of all, we would like to give our sincerest thanks and appreciation for our guide, Joao. He was friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. The waterfalls that we hiked to were spectacular and worth every effort to get to. The trails were a bit challenging but with perseverance, you will love the views. The small group was ideal. We didn’t feel rushed and Joao made sure that we were safe and comfortable throughout the day. The lunch provided was generous and tasty. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in visiting the beautiful island of Açores.

5.00Out in the wonderful nature of the Azores, our guide Joao went above and beyond to make sure we had the best day. He even made sure I got to see one thing that I had missed on a previous tour due to bad weather.

5.00This trip was fantastic, you see not only beautiful waterfalls but the most amazing nature the island has to offer. Our guide Joao was outstanding, extremely knowledgeable and flexible with what we wanted to do. I highly recommend this trip to anyone wanting to see some of the hidden nature and (for those who are feeling brave) have a swim in some beautiful pools under the waterfalls.

5.00We had 3 fantastic private trips with Pure Azores. Day 1 we did the west side of Sao Miguel with our very knowledgeable and very accommodating guides, Hugo and Manuel. They were both very attentive to our needs/wants. Day 2 was the east side of the island with Manuel and Joao. Again, we had a wonderful experience made so by our guides. Day 3 was a half day walking tour of Ponta Delgada with Joao. Joao’s knowledge of Ponta Delgada was deep and informative. He went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience.

5.00Fantastic group tour with Joao! Pick-up was very smooth, great communication on timing. Had a lovely group of people, with Joao keeping us all engaged. Learned a lot about the history of the Azores, and got to hike through some hidden gems on the island! Great spots with scenic views, and not too crowded with people. Highly recommend this tour and having Joao was great - will definitely book another adventure with them when we return.
