No tourist traps, no gimmicks—just six family-run spots serving street food New Yorkers line up for. Think Polish pierogi, old-school donuts, iconic halal, and a few hidden gems you’d never find on your own.
I’m Nicholas, a private chef with over 20 years in NYC kitchens—from Michelin-starred restaurants to private dining. When I’m not working, I’m walking these exact streets and eating this exact food—and now, I’m walking them with you.
Along the way, you’ll explore Williamsburg and Greenpoint’s historic architecture, street art, and the cultures that shaped these neighborhoods. It’s a personal, chef-curated experience that shows you how real New Yorkers eat.

Williamsburg
This first part of the tour takes you through a historically Italian neighborhood in Williamsburg, where the homes and streets are as beautiful as the food. You’ll visit an old-school Italian bakery that’s been serving locals since the 1970s—so steeped in cultural significance, you might question whether you’re in Brooklyn or Italy. Then, savor the best pizza in town just a few blocks away, where the flavors speak for themselves. We’ll also stop by a local panini shop for elevated bodega bites—because no NYC street food tour is complete without one—and visit a hidden Middle Eastern gem run by a father-and-son duo serving life-changing halal. All the stops are family-run, beloved by locals, and open secrets most tourists never find. Along the way, you’ll take in the stunning architecture and timeless charm of this vibrant area.
Greenpoint, with its rich Polish heritage and historic architecture, sets the perfect stage for this part of the tour. We’ll stop at a local donut shop that’s been a neighborhood staple since the 1950s. Then, we’ll head to a Michelin-starred pierogi spot and take our pierogis to McCarren Park, enjoying them in one of NYC’s most classic parks. Perhaps the most interesting part of this tour is the final walk to Bedford Avenue—where you’ll experience the neighborhood’s stunning mix of old-world charm, modern architecture, and vibrant street art. It’s the perfect way to end your Brooklyn food tour.

5.00Absolutely loved this tour. The guides were so easy to talk with and made excellent choices with the stops on the tour. You get a wide variety of flavors and foods and truly are supporting local Williamsburg and Greenpoint businesses. The other options for tours in this area are so focused on a few trending spots and this one felt authentic; capturing the true essence of the cultures here. I loved getting a tour from a Chef’s perspective as well, so fun. Would definitely go again and already looking forward to going back to some of the stops!

5.00We had so much fun on this tour! My husband and I (who were down from Boston) and my son (who lives right in Bushwick) LOVED our evening with Nicholas and Johanna. It felt like we were hanging out with friends who were sharing these hidden culinary treasures in their neighborhood. Everything they recommended was excellent - and PLENTY of food! Great way to experience all the different cuisines of Williamsburg. Highly recommend!
