Highly recommend! So much more than just a chocolate making class. We drank, cut up, learned some much really was a blast. Good with great people.

Jake's passion for what he does is evident right from the get go. He met us outside our flat and told us the history of the city on the walk over to the chocolate shop. You can tell by the way he talks that he's incredibly knowledgeable about not just the history of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, but of Germany and Europe in general. He greeted people in town and seemed to know nearly everyone we came across. Everyone really seemed to like him and it's clear why. He's a natural born story teller and just a fun guy to be around. We even got to go into a "barn theater" (sorry, I butchered that) and told us a bit about how they were used as speaking halls and the history of them all the way up through WWII. After our tour of the town, we went into Chocolaterie Amelie and were greeted by the most heavenly smells. As everything was set up for the chocolate making/tasting session, Jake told us about the history of the shop and the family that runs it. We then met the head chocolatier Linus and over the course of the next hour, we made our own chocolate in molds, learned about the different strains and types of kakao, and got to taste all different types of chocolate. The repartee between Jake and Linus was almost as entertaining as the tour itself! The passion they both have for what they do is clear as day and it was a pleasure to spend an afternoon learning from them both. I would seriously recommend this tour to anyone looking to make some fantastic chocolate, learn some history, drink some champagne and just generally have a great time.
