• Great experience… but feel for the locals!

  We visited right after Easter and this area was crowded… and when I say crowded, I mean CROWDED! The amount of people unfortunately takes away from the experience these 5 small villages can provide. However, our tour operator/driver Emiliano was excellent! There was an issue with a landslide blocking the road to Vernazza, and rather making us lose an additional 45 minutes due to a detour he recommended to take the train which we did. Great attention to detail, very informative, and our group loved traveling with Emiliano.

• Livorno to La Spezia

  Met our tour guide/driver in Livorno dockside exactly on time. Heavy rains were expected that day in Cinque Terra, so our guide suggested stopping first in Porto Venere (just south of La Spezia) and then depending on the weather, on to the other villages. All the walking paths between villages were shut down due to the deteriorating weather conditions. Guide provided history of the various towns/villages between Livorno and La Spezia. First stop: Porto Venera. No rain, but windy and very cloudy. Nice little village to walk around and take pictures. Second stop: Manarola. Steep roads/paths down to the village. Then the rains and fog came. Guide decided to drive to Monterosso Al Mare (North of Manarola) to see if we could avoid some of the poor weather conditions. The rains and wind let up about 20 minutes into our visit. Had a nice lunch and took some great pictures. Decided to stop in Pisa on our way back to Livorno. Great way to end our tour. So, for a day that looked like a wash, it actually turned into a successful adventure. Highly recommend this tour. It provides site seeing flexibility.

  We had a wonderful day with Alessio from the time he picked us up in Livorno Port. Very professional, informative, a great driver and very charming and funny. We visited Riomaggiore, Vernazza and Corniglia with an excellent lunch in Vernazza. Plenty of free time in all places and the best gelato at Alberto’s Corniglia

  Thank you Alessio for your informative, entertaining and safe trip to Cinque Terre We had the best day and can’t thank you enough Going as a couple was great however this tour is also perfect as a solo traveller or a group of friends Clean and comfortable vehicle and Alessio speaks excellent English and has been to Australia before, in particular WA where we are from so had lots in common 100% recommend

  We had an amazing day in Cinque Terre with Emiliano. This was our second day with him and he is a great guide and excellent driver. We stopped at an overlook near Riomaggiore to take a picture and learn about the 5 villages. Then we went to Manarola, Corniglia and Vernazza and had some free time in each place. This area is absolutely beautiful! Emiliano picked us up and dropped us off right at the cruise port and helped us plan a such a memorable day-- we even had time to swim at Vernazza. This was our last day and the perfect ending to a great vacation! I highly recommend this tour.
