Sail on board the only historic day sailing schooner out of Camden Maine. We carry 18 passengers at most and have cushioned seating on board for all. Experienced crew will point out wild life, tell you history of our area and show local landmarks. Come and enjoy a beautiful sail overlooking Camden Hills and sail by the famous Curtis Island Lighthouse. Get involved in learning to haul sails or sit back and enjoy the views with a bottle of wine and picnic. Offering days sails, live acoustic music sails, sunset sails and full moon sails.

5.00We sailed on the Schooner Surprise and we loved our sail. The crew were friendly and informative. The boat is owned and operated privately. The captain and crew made a point to include everyone allowing us to handle the sails- one man was even allowed to steer for a while.(he also owned his own sailboat) It was windy and chilly so they provided blankets. It was a terrific experience. It made us realize how much fun it is to sail on a hundred year old schooner. So we are on the lookout for day sailing whenever we are near the shore. Definitely recommend a sail on the Schooner Surprise if you are in the area.

5.00We took a sunset sail on the Schooner Independence. It was easy to pre-schedule and we got directions and a time to meet. At the meet-up time, there was some confusion about where to meet as the dock was under some construction. The captain, Diana, tried to contact me, about the location and a time change, but the messages were not getting thru as my phone was dying. She was determined to find us and thankfully she did. The crew, Ricky, Dianna, Karl, and Diana, were personable and eagerly shared stories and information about the keys. The sail was more intimate because there were only about 15 guests. They provided drinks, snacks and a sandwich for the guests. One of the things that made the sail more enjoyable was the lack of loud blaring music which seemed to be present on many of the boats doing sunset sails. It made watching the sunset a more peaceful experience. I would highly recommend the Schooner Independence if you a looking for a sunset sail in Key West.

5.00The boat is gorgeous (and has an interesting history). The crew was amiable and knowledgeable about the boat and the geography. I will sail with them again this coming summer! This is the best way to see coastal Maine!

5.00Loved this experience. We were there I think 10:30am to 12:30. Very peaceful and the boat was beautiful, over 100 years old and in great shape! Enjoyed!

5.00The reviews did not disappoint! We took the last trip of the season. Weather changed our plans and the tour advisor kept us up to date and was able to move our reservation up one day as our trip cancelled. Awesome trip! The captain referred The Waterfront restaurant for an amazing dinner after our cruise. Don't miss this tour.

5.00It is quite an experience sailing on a 107 year old Schooner! Two hours was just about the right amount of time. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. It was a very positive experience. We sailed on the Surprise about 10 years ago and it was lots of fun to do it again!

5.00Awesome experience! We booked an early afternoon sailing on the Anjacaa and couldn’t have been more pleased. The captain and his mate were experts at handling the sailboat and extremely knowledgeable about the boat’s history. This was our first sailing experience so we weren’t sure what to expect but the crew and experience exceeded our expectations. It ended up being a beautiful fall day on the water!
