Trip is long. Almost First hour and half goes in pickups. Then they took us to a small Mayan village which was not part of itinerary. Spend 1.5 hours there which was pretty much shopping tourist trap. At rh end Valladilod and tequila tasting was also more of a shopping tourist trap. All that time could be spent at chichen itza and cenotes which would add more value for travelers. Food at the lunch buffet was terrible, but we didn’t expect much. Chichen itza and cenotes were really amazing and was the highlight of the tour. Our guide was informative but also slightly passive aggressive in selling Mayan birth certificate, when we refused to buy one.

Everything about this tour was perfect for me it’s everything it says and more I have never seen or experienced anything like this the tour guides were amazing and made everything so much easier to understand it’s insane how they were able to do these things thousands of years ago if you don’t like history don’t do this tour i learned so much and seen such beautiful things the cenote was unlike anything I’ve ever seen in my whole life I’m not sure if I’ll see anything like that again in my lifetime

They took my money and didn’t provide the tour And I am only receiving a small % of a refund instead of the whole refund because it was within 24 hours of the tour but they were slow to communicate with me that they couldn’t provide the tour. I paid money for no reason. Terrible. Do not use at all.

Me and my wife loved the tour with Martin, he was a great guide going the extra mile in explaining everything about the Mayan culture and numerology. While we were overall happy compared to other groups that seemed to have fewer guide explanations, we felt that for shopping we were still directed to "touristic shops" where the prices were higher than what we were expecting - for example, at the tequila tasting, any bottle was more than 100 dollars which was nuts. Moreover, we saw the enthusiasm Martin had while explaning stuff but sometimes it was hard to follow him due to the pace of explanations and thus we got lost at some points.

A lovely range of Mexican history, culture and natural beauty. The trip is a long day but well worth the early start! Both the Chichen Itza and the Cenote were even more mesmerising in the flesh than in pictures. For someone who doesn’t love water, I’d recommend to anyone to plunge into the Cenote and take in the natural beauty. Special shout out to Edwin our tour guide who was an encyclopaedia of both the history of Mexico and Mayan culture.

Our excursion to Chichen Itza and Valladolid, led by two wonderful guides, Luís and Martín, and our driver, Eduardo, was one for the memories! The locations themselves were breathtaking, but what really made this experience so wonderful was our guides and driver. All of them did a wonderful job delivering safety protocols and educational information with humor. During the tour itself, my partner and I spent the majority of our time with Luís, given that he was leading the tour in English. The entire day, from the time he began presenting information on the bus before our arrival to the first stop and through the end of the day, Luís was so positive, funny, friendly, candid, and overall, he made the experience what it was. During the tours, the way Luís presented information was captivating and I believe that even in a group of at least 25 people, every single person could name something they learned on the tour with him. I was in awe the entire time. I also appreciated the emphasis on learning Mayan culture— the REAL Mayan culture. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this tour or especially about our guides. Transparently, without them, I may have thought Chichen Itza itself to be somewhat underwhelming— not because of a lack of beauty, but because the knowledge Luís shared with us before and during this tour made the experience GREAT rather than just “cool” or “decent”. He is a gifted public speaker, educator and storyteller. Though I had a wonderful time, I want to share some information that I think could help others before making a decision to go on this excursion: I will say— this was a really long day, even with power naps on the bus between stops. If you are not up for a 15 ish hour day, including a fairly lengthy bus ride from Cancun and a good bit of movement in the heat. Or, if you are someone with limited mobility or a physical disability, have young children in strollers and who still take naps, or are heat-sensitive, this may not be the tour for you. Or, at least, you may not feel as though you are able to take advantage of the full experience. On the second stop, the Cenote and lunch (approx. two hours including lunch), there are a few helpful things to know. First, the Cenote can only be accessed by stairs. There are over 50 slippery steps down and back up, and since the staircase is quite narrow, it may take a bit of time to get down and back up due to crowds. Thankfully, there are railings available and life vests are required, so it felt safe, but this leg of the tour may be a bit more difficult if you require a mobility aid. Next, when you purchase your Chichen Itza entry, there is an option to upgrade your ticket (this is the one of two things I wish I would have done differently!) which covers potential Cenote and lunch-related expenses on the second stop. We did not do the upgrade, but I wish we had, as that ticket upgrade covers the cost of life vests, locker, and drinks at the buffet lunch (drinks, even water, are not offered). In order to swim, you must purchase a life jacket and a locker. This cost us an additional 210 pesos. Though quite inexpensive, if you are sticking to a tight budget, be aware of that expense if you do not plan to upgrade. Also, at the buffet, two water bottles cost us an additional $9ish USD since we did not purchase the upgraded tickets which included drinks. Bringing in your own food or drink to the lunch is not allowed which, to me, is completely fine since it is important to support the local economy, but knowing you cannot have your own drinks would have changed my mind on whether or not to purchase the upgrades for our tickets. I suggest that if you do not do the upgrade and plan to buy drinks during lunch, it is good to prepare to spend a bit more since there is no skirting the drink, life jacket, and locker expenses if you want to swim or have a drink (alcoholic or non alcoholic) at lunch. The other thing I would have changed, while completely in my control, is bringing more food, snacks, and a charger bank since the day is so long. We began our bus ride at approximately 7am (arrived to our pick-up point by 6:35) and though thankfully we did have a small breakfast few snacks, we did not have lunch until about 2:30 pm. Some ate later since there is a choice to swim or eat first. There was a Starbucks at Chichen Itza, but for my fellow folks on a budget, it was quite expensive and did not have much in the way of food aside from pastries and teats, so by the time we got to the Cenote, we were starving. If you plan to do this tour, make sure to eat a big breakfast or bring a good, solid, on-the-go breakfast and snacks with you so that you are not super hungry in the heat like we were. Though a me error, I was under the assumption that lunch would be earlier given that this is an early morning tour. My lack of preparedness aside, when we went to lunch at the buffet, everything was absolutely delicious, filling, authentic, and was eaten in a gorgeous, shaded outdoor seating area. To me, the buffet lunch added so much value to the excursion. I am gluten free— intolerant, not celiac, so I cannot speak to the safety of the buffet for celiacs— but I was a bit nervous about the buffet options before we arrived at lunch. However, the only thing there that I remember I definitely could not eat was pasta. Everything else was clearly labeled and marked as gluten free or as vegetarian/vegan. Overall, the day was amazing and I would recommend it to anyone! I could continue on about our wonderful guides, but in summary, it was a great day and our guides timed each stop perfectly as to fit in as much as possible without rushing each stop. If you have a whole day to dedicate during your vacation, I cannot recommend this enough!

This tour package was indeed very cheap — the three of us paid less than $100 USD in total. However, the overall experience was very disappointing, and I would not recommend it. Here are the main issues: 1️⃣ Extremely inefficient schedule We were picked up at 6:10 AM, but the tour did not officially depart for Chichen Itza until 10:30 AM. Nearly four hours were spent picking up passengers and switching vehicles, which was exhausting and poorly organized. 2️⃣ Constant sales pitch from the guide After departure, the guide (Luis) continuously promoted so-called “Mayan cultural products,” especially the Mayan calendar. The first stop was a so-called “Mayan village,” which was essentially a forced shopping stop. We spent over an hour there looking at stone carvings and listening to sales presentations. This significantly reduced the quality of the experience. 3️⃣ Very disappointing cenote The cenote we were taken to was extremely small and not very clean. The water was shallow (only about knee-deep), and it did not feel inviting at all. It looked nothing like the promotional photos. 4️⃣ Poor attitude from the guide The bus sound system was not clear, and I did not hear the meeting time properly. When I asked the guide to repeat it, he questioned why I had not listened carefully, which felt unnecessarily rude. 5️⃣ Poor time allocation Too much time was wasted at shopping stops and unnecessary locations, while the beautiful town of Valladolid was reduced to only a 20-minute visit. In summary, although the price was very low, the quality of the experience reflected that. If you are only looking for the cheapest option, this may work. However, if you value comfort, cultural experience, and proper time management, I would recommend choosing a higher-quality tour.

I paid for all inclusive Chichen itza and cenote tour 185 USD. My friend went with me, but he paid 27 USD for a bus ride + 45 USD for chichen itza entrance + 10 USD for locker at cenote+ 6 USD for beer at the restaurant. So we got identical services, but he paid 88 USD and me 185 USD! So beware of Viator's tricks or just use Get Your Guide!
