This 6 to 8 hours, Dhofar mountain safari tour, will take you to a magical journey to the Eastern side of Salalah, where one of best landscape of the Middle East awaits you.
Taqa Castle is one of Dhofar’s most distinguished landmarks, which was built in the 19th century. Taqa Beach and Taqa city will also be covered in this tour. Koofan House and Burj Al Askar are also in Taqa.
The most popular valley of the Dhofar Region, Wadi Darbat will be your main stop. Here you will be seeing the seasonal waterfall, a spring where you can do boating (kayaking/paddle boat/motor boat) overlooking the mountain of Jabal Qara series.
Visit Tawi Attair (bird well) sinkhole.
Jabal Samhan is the highest point in Dhofar, which is above 4000 feet. From here the view is amazing and if you are lucky, you will see mountains passing below you.
Anti Gravity Point and Wadi Hanna (baobab trees) also covered in the full day safari.
Visit Mirbat Sand Dunes at the beach.

Although Taqa is famous for its castle but Taqa has a great beach also and is a great spot for birds watching. The view of Taqa city is great from the beach side.
This is old house, entrance inside is optional if you want to pay. It is good from outside as well. The place has a souvenir shop as well.

5.00We had a wonderful experience on the East Salalah Mountain Safari to Wadi Darbat and the surrounding beaches and camel areas. Our guide, Musallam, was exceptionally kind, thoughtful, and knowledgeable, offering great insights throughout the trip. Although it’s winter and the landscape isn’t at its lushest, the mountain views were still beautiful, and we really enjoyed the peaceful tea and fresh bread break in the hills. Overall, a memorable and well-guided tour. Highly recommended!
Good overview of the area east of Salalah

4.00It was a nice tour, first along the beach where we saw flamingos and interesting rock formations. Then an old archaeological site, a museum with an incense tree in front of it and then into the mountains. The sinkhole I didn't find so impressive, however, and there was no waterfall (probably because of the season, but you would have to point it out on the part of the provider). Finally, a boat trip in a canyon and then we were back in Salalah in the afternoon and could still go swimming by the sea.

5.00I recommend the tour. Quite a busy program, in six hours we watched everything that was announced and even had lunch. Our guide Ali was very attentive, in Arabic polite and courteous. He talked in some detail about all the sights we visited and also answered all our questions as we moved from one spot to the next. The views are stunning, the interaction with animals, the huge baobabs, all of which leave an unforgettable experience. Oman is a very beautiful country and this tour reveals different sides of its splendour. In addition, they bought entrance tickets at R$1 to the historic house museum and for R$5 they took a boat for 7 people to Wadi Darabat. A lunch of fresh fish with side dishes, freshly squeezed juice and tea cost R$4 for two. The duration of the tour is optimal, we have not had time to get tired. The atmosphere is friendly, we had an international group of seven, it was really nice to meet everyone. We weren't in high season, there were no crowds. Unequivocally recommend students, couples, seniors! The tour does not involve physical activity, but is very colorful and educational!

5.00Everything went great and Mohammed Almahdali was very good in explaining and took us both to the beautiful beach of Taqah and to take the boat ride to Wadi darbat or alternatively there was the camel ride. He offered us a delicious cardamom tea made by his wife which I highly recommend to taste if you come to Oman. Obviously not really that of the wife🤣

I contacted her at the very last minute, and even though they normally don’t take last-minute bookings, she made it happen for me with so much care and understanding. She truly saved my day and made my solo trip feel safe and supported. I really appreciate her thoughtful communication and the way she handled everything so smoothly. 💛 A special thank you to Abdullah, our guide, who carried such a calm, warm energy throughout the day. He explained everything beautifully, guided us with patience, and made the journey feel relaxed and meaningful. His presence added so much comfort to the entire trip. 5.00We had a great and very entertaining trip with our driver Abdullah who gave us lots of information and allowed us to spend ample time in the various locations. The only downside was some confusion about the Mirbat sand dunes which was one of the main reasons this tour was chosen but we were told towards the end of the tour was not included. Either the itinerary is incorrect and needs updating or the driver was not aware of this visit but either way we didn’t go. Aside from this issue the rest of the day was great and I also spent the day with an amazing group of likeminded solo travellers
