This is a private tour with a 7-seater van for maximum 6 guests.

Chania is a melting pot of civilizations and cultures, each invader leaving its mark on history, architecture and culture. Chania is the oldest continuously inhabited city in Europe dating back to the Minoan civilization. Our drivers are locals, fluent in English, know this place intimately and love sharing the knowledge.

We will drive around the city and visit various sites for 2 hours, and for 2 hours more you could wander around the picturesque alleys on your own and have lunch. Will explain the culture and traditions and how they formed the modern day city of Chania. We are not allowed to walk or guide in the old town with travellers, because our license is for a driving tour.

You could extend the tour, by visiting either the archaeological museum, do wine tasting or spend more time in Chania.

You can extend the tour for 3 hours and visit a beach or mountain restaurant and have lunch for an extra cost.

Will drop you off at Talos square on the west side of Chania old town, which is more authentic and unspoiled. You will have around 2 hours available to walk around on your own in the picturesque alleys, explore the town, shop or have lunch.

George was extremely knowledgeable about the island and history. He drove us to the important historical stops as well as gave us time on our own to visit recommended shops and restaurants. He was my favorite tour guide amongst all our cruise stops.

My family spent the day exploring Chania with George. Since we were in a small van, we were able to get very close to many sites instead of parking and walking long distances. George provided lots of information about each site and more information between sites. We left feeling we had seen the major sites and gotten a taste of daily life in Chania. George was well informed on world events and was able to compare/contrast Greece and the US (our home). Much appreciated and would recommend!

George was extremely professional and accommodating during our tour of Chania the old town and the surrounding mountainside. It was a wonderful and memorable experience as we visited many well-known tourist spots as well as some hidden gems. He is passionate about his country and has great knowledge and experience; he shared a lot of fascinating history and cultural insights. We all found the tour informative and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Additionally, George arranged for us to have a lovely lunch at a restaurant in the mountainside, there was so much to eat and very reasonably priced. It was a great end to a most enjoyable tour. I would highly recommend George and I intend to return to Crete and would happily reach out to George again to explore all the places we didn't have time to visit.

George was amazing and a wealth of knowledge. It is very apparent he loves his city, country, and what he does. We absolutely loved this tour and learning about his town. He gave amazing recommendations when we were in the Old City and we loved every minute of it.

Our guide George was wonderful. He is friendly, well educated, travelled extensively, soft spoken and funny. He did not stop talking about various topics, on culture, traditions, nature, economics, politics, basketball, and so much more. He could make comparison between Greece, Europe, the US and the world and has a good understanding of current events (he studied Modern history and politics and has two MAs). This is not a history tour, boring with dates and events. It was extremely interesting, and we still visited the monuments and highlights of Chania old town. He was patient with us and stopped at shops to see and taste local products. We also visited the Commonwealth Cemetery from WW2 which was very moving. He responded to messages quickly, was punctual and flexible to our requests and our slow pace as we were a group of six older adults over the age of 60. I would highly recommend George and his company Niriis Tours.

It was excellent highly recommended. Our tour guide was the best. Her name was Elsa She was very intelligent and had a good bit of knowledge and showed us the historical as well as the quaint streets.
