It is the perfect tour for those who have only one day to visit the splendid Dolomites: you will travel in full “The Great Dolomites Road” from Bolzano to Cortina d’Ampezzo, with the best of the Western and Eastern Dolomites and all the most beautiful alpine lakes. A tour of about 10 hours that you will not forget very easily!

Lago Di Carezza
Departure from Bolzano, the Gateway to the Dolomites, capital of the province South Tyrol. We will cross the Ega Valley that begins at Bolzano and runs eastward between the Rosengarten and the Latemar mountains. This road was built in 1894 when the territory was part of the Austro Hungarian Empire. We will stop at Carezza Lake, the most beautiful lake of the western Dolomites: 30 minutes of staying with a walk around the lake if you want.
Fassa Valley
o Then we will arrive to Costalunga Pass. Near the Pass we will see the historical “Grand Hotel Carezza”, built in 1893, the first luxury hotel in the Dolomites which hosted very important guests like the Empress Sissi, Winston Churchill, Agatha Christie. From the Costalunga Pass we will reach the Fassa Valley in Trentino: we will pass through the towns of Vigo di Fassa and Canazei to arrive under the imposing peaks of the Sella Group.

5.00Alex is amazing! He got in touch with me immediately after making the reservation and stayed in communication until our tour. Alex is first rate number 1. He knows the Dolomites and will adjust your schedule accordingly should the weather conditions change and you still won’t miss out because there is so much to see. Alex is fun and engaging and allows just enough time at each spot. This was probably one of our favorite tours and that’s a big thanks to Alex.

5.00If you are thinking of visiting the Dolomites from Bolzano and in need of a perfect companion, tour guide and advisor with you then go for Alex (ItalyDolomites) without any doubt. He knows the area very well and has wonderful recommendations. He is punctual & professional yet very friendly and even would customise your itinerary based on your preferences. But even if you customise, take his advice as his suggestions will definitely make the trip easy and pleasurable. Of course the locations are breathtaking, from Lago di Braies, Val de Funes, Alpe di Siusi, Ortisei and Lago di Carezza but the stories from Alex and his knowledge made our day trip memorable.

5.00Alex was incredible. We could have driven to all of the same sites and never had the experience we had with Alex. Deeply knowledgeable, an amazing conversationalist, safe, prepared for all weather. If I could have taken Alex to every stop in our Italy trip, I would have.

5.00It can definitely be affected by the weather, but no matter it was worth it. !!!! Be prepared for it to get cold. Our guide, Alessandro, was incredible. He made adjustments for the weather and we had great views and picture opportunities. He absolutely made the experience. His knowledge of the area, history, and driving skills and patience were beyond expectations. A truly once in a lifetime experience.

5.00I booked this tour not knowing what to expect. When we arrived in the Dolomites, we were worried about the height and weather in the mountains as we are from Chicago and are not used to such elevations! Alex made us feel very comfortable and assured us of the weather and but also let us know the tour was flexible should we not want to go to such high elevations. We ended up braving it and we were so glad we did. Being from Bolzano, he knows so much about the areas history and could probably drive the mountains with his eyes closed! We felt so safe and learned so much- even though the weather the day we toured wasn’t great we had an amazing time and still saw so much. I can’t recommend this tour enough.

5.00The most amazing tour! Allessandro was an excellent tour guide. Instantly likable, professional and a wonderful, safe driver on challenging roads. The perfect blend of historical, cultural and geographical insights, all done with humour and interesting anecdotes. Worth every penny. You will not regret doing this tour.

5.00Four of us had a fabulous day seeing the sights of the Dolomites with Alex. Alex is very professional, an excellent driver (I had my doubts beforehand about the hairpin bends as I'm a nervous passenger but I had no cause for concern with Alex's driving) and his car is extremely comfortable. Alex is knowledgeable about his home region and the information he shared was interesting. This tour was a little pricey for us given our current exchange rate, but we could not fault it, and it was definitely worth the money to get such a great overview of the Dolomites in just a day. Very highly recommended, you will not be disappointed.

5.00Allesandro couldn’t have shown us a better tour. The first day, he researched our family home in Cloz and took us to see the sites and to buy some copper made in the area for more than a hundred years. The second day, he took s on a Grand Tour of the Dolomites. He is obviously in live with this area. We had a great day! He watched the weather and arranged our days so the weather would be the best in the Dolomites. Memories for a lifetime!!!
