Absolutely fabulous tour with a very knowledgable guide who knew everything about her craft and spoke with passion the entire time. Laura was her name. Laura handed us off to another guide in Montepiciano who was an equally skilled guide. Everything about this tour was fantastic

Chiara, I hope I have the spelling right, was excellent. She was informative and enthusiastic. It was a long day but beautiful. The small villages were majestic. They did a good job on the tour of taking time when walking up steep inclines which was appreciated. Unfortunately we ran into long traffic delays caused by accidents on the way back to Rome. Our driver was wonderful and patient.

CityWonders are the host of this day tour and I cannot say it was anything short of amazing!! This is actually one of their most popular tours and here is why: Montepulchiano is the first stop and is a quaint little country town on top of a hill. It was a quiet setting but also showed the villagers ways of life. The wine tasting is set at a local winery there and the family owner personally greets you and has a special made lunch for your group. Everything was delicious, and the wine gave a perfect balance to the entire three course meal! We had a brief stop at San Biagio which is a church on the side of the hill - which is very popular. There is a charge to get inside, but there isn’t enough time there to visit (like 5-10mins total). After San Biagio you travel to the small town of Pienza which is just as beautiful as the previous location. I was excited to discover it to be the hometown of Pope Pius II, but again time was too short to fully explore the town (approx. 1hr). Everything was an amazing time, countryside was a good way to get out of Rome for the day. Highly recommended, and even better would be to bring your friends!!
