This trip is perfect for groups of friends, families, couples, or solo travelers looking for a fun and scenic ride to the beach and meeting likeminded people.
You can choose the experience that fits you best:
Transportation Only.
Perfect if you just want to relax on the beach, soak up the sun, and cheer on your friends and family as they catch waves.
Individual Surfing.
For beginner and experienced surfers who want free surf time and the freedom to practice or catch waves on their own.
Surf Lesson.
Ideal for beginners or intermediate surfers looking for guidance, tips, and fun with one of our local instructors.
Departure: Daily at 2 PM
Please arrive 10–15 minutes early so we can get everyone on the road and start the adventure on time!

Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
Not recommended for travelers with bad overall health.
Minimum age: 5 years
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The adult does not need to join the lesson in the water, but must remain nearby during the activity.
Basic swimming skills required
No weight restrictions, but participants should be able to carry a surfboard (about 10 minutes walk)
Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level

We’ll meet at our surf school in Sayulita, where we’ll help you pick the perfect board for your level and get everything loaded up. From there, it’s about a 30-minute drive to La Lancha beach, between Bucerías and Punta de Mita. Once we arrive, we’ll unload the boards and take a short walk through the jungle trail down to the beach. TANSPORTATION ONLY: Enjoy the beach for about 2,5 hours en watch your loved ones catching waves. INDIVIDUAL SURF SESSION: Your instructor will point out the best (and safest) spots to surf, and then you’ll have about 2,5 hours of free surf time to enjoy the waves at your own pace. SURF LESSON: Your instructor will start with a 20-minute beach lesson to cover all the basics. Then it’s time to hit the water for about 1.5 hours of guided practice, learning how to catch waves, ride green waves, and build confidence on your own. Afterward, you’ll have about 30-45 minutes of free time to keep practicing or relax on the beach. After, we’ll head back to the car and drive you to Sayulita, where the trip finishes back at our school.

5.00We had a fabulous morning with these guys! None of us had surfed before, and we were all riding waves right away. They were patient and clear in their instruction. Going out to la lancha to surf was well worth it versus staying right in Sayulita. Definitely recommend!

5.00Wonderful experience. The ride to the beach was a lot of fun and our instructors, Miguel and William, were excellent. We’ve all taken multiple beginner surf lessons and we all agreed this was the best! The beach was absolutely perfect for beginners and Miguel and William made sure we all had a great time and caught a ton of waves. Can’t recommend highly enough!

5.00Amazing experience for our family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 teenagers - on the La Lancha surf trip! Our family had surfed once before in Hawaii 3 years ago so we were basically beginners. Miguel and the team had us all up on our boards and surfing in no time! Great, detailed instruction to help us succeed and have fun while doing it. The whole experience was great from the playlist on the drive to the relaxed atmosphere along the way and when we arrived. Gorgeous beach as well! I would highly recommend Miguel and the other instructors we had. Great experience!!!
We had a great time and everyone stood up. So worth it!

1.00I recently had a very bad experience with this school which clearly lacks professionalism and communication. In fact I had contacted Lara on WhatsApp to make 5 promotional trips to Lancha who told me it was ok and to come to the school. Arriving there Miguel told me that they don't do Lancha trips and disappointed but still wanting to surf I rented the board for 5 days for 2000 pesos but in fact I learned that the next day they were taking a beginner to the Lancha. I asked them if I could go there and they asked me to pay 600 pesos extra for the trip. They both got mad at me and ended up telling me I could go to the Lancha and not rent the board for the week but they were very rude to me the whole week and made me feel good the whole time. week that I was not welcome in their club after having paid them 2500 pesos. I had a really bad time and forced myself to go surfing all week in this bad atmosphere because I didn't want to lose the money. For me it is still not clear why they acted like that and I have the deep feeling that they were interested in my money and not in having a good time surfing and taking me to ds place for intermediate level and surf with pleasure.

Miguel and his team are all so friendly and welcoming, and it truly is one of the best experiences Sayulita has to offer especially if you're a beginner like me. I had a lesson at La Lancha with Victor who is an incredible instructor - he was patient, kind, and helped build my confidence on the board. Thank you Miguel and Victor for an amazing experience!
