Candi Mendut (Temple)
Built around 7 century , Mendut is the older than Borobudur temple Many people still use for praying untill now,the temple was built and finished during the reign of King Indra of Sailendra dynasty. The inscription dated 7 Century mentioned that King Indra of Sailendra has built a sacred building named Venuvana which means "bamboo forest. We will find 3 big statue of Buddha at Mendut temple Cahyawuni Bodhisattvas (Buddhist divinities), such as Avalokitesvara, Vajrapani.

5.00Our guide was exceptional. Confusion because two similar ships docked on the same day meant he got up at 3am despite tjat we did not arrive until 11. He was kind and informative for the whole of the 3 hour drive to Borabodur and back. We heartily reccomend this trip to anybody.

5.00Hibza picked us up from our cruise terminal. He is very professional and courteous. Upon arriving the temple, he walked with us to the yard and guided us to retrieve the sandal (for climbing the temple). Our tour consist entry admission and ticket to climb the tempel. A local tour guide led us climbing up the temple. Afterwards Hibza met us at the bottom of the temple and took us to Candi Mendut (Temple), which is less crowded, but very serene and peaceful. On the way back to the ship, we enjoyed a box of delicious assorted local treats and bottled water. We enjoyed our tour, the car ride was easy and stress free. Highly recommend this tour operator!

5.00We received excellent communication from Didik who contacted us a few days before our trip and was waiting for us when we left the ship. He encouraged us to be as early as possible to avoid traffic and the ships coaches of which there were many. This was a wise move as we arrived well ahead of the other traffic although extremely busy because this was an Indonesian public holiday. He dropped us at Boroadour organised tickets for us and explained in excellent English what we would be doing. All worked according to plan. He picked us up after and returned us to the ship in good time. He even provided a snack for us on the way. We enjoyed a very interesting day with our guide Didik

5.00We were very lucky to have Dani being our private tour guide. He is a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide for our visit to the ancient Borobudur Temple. Because the day was a big Muslim holiday, the main road to Borobudur was locked for small cars, Dani took us through a detour mountainous road in jammed traffic. It turned out to be a scenic route through some beautiful terrace rice fields and peaceful villages, which we enjoyed very much. Being a skilled safe driver, Dani still got us to Borobudur on time, helped us through the ticketing, admission process, so we spent enough time at the historic Temple. After the Borobudur, Dani took us via some backroad to the other old temple Mendul, in addition we got to visit a Luwat coffee farm to get some precious gifts to take home with. During the day, Dani told us many interesting stories about the Buddhism, Hinduism and Islamic dynamic history in the local Javanese region. These stories made our Borobudur visit so much more interesting and alive! We are so happy to have visited the temple with Dani as our tour guide!
