• Great tour with Jeff ...

  Jeff was waiting for us, on time, at the start of the tour and quickly whisked us off through the busy streets. On our way to the first scheduled stop Jeff gave us a tour of a local neighbourhood, to show us how the locals live. Jeff is an expert in all things flora and forna, so provided a fascinating commentary on what the locals grow in their gardens. We journeyed to a huge temple where Jeff provided insightful info on the meaning of the internal decorations, symbols and showed us all the best bits of the huge complex. Then we went to the botanic gardens, via the funicular railway and walked the tree top walk. Again Jeff knew the best vantage points and what to look out for. After that were toured the downtown canny street art, and Limm jetty, a stilt shanty town. We finally went back to our ship via Clan houses, a peak into historic feudal living. Jeff was the best tour guide we encountered on our whole trip to Asia…ask for him if you are doing this trip.

  Mr. Law provided us with an excellent tour of Penang. He provided the cultural background and historical importance at each visited site. He also pointed out all the different religious sites indicating the society provided freedom of religion for all backgrounds. We gained an appreciation for the diverse cultures. We really enjoyed Penang hill and the venicular ride down. He was able to get seats right at the front of the first carriage so we could get great photos. All in all our tour was wonderful. We highly recommend Mr. Law

  Our stellar experience was all because Ashline was our guide and driver. Penang is a very busy city with motorbikes trying to share the same lane you are in and she is a calm, wonderful driver. She is well educated and knows all the history of the places that we visited. I had a list of sites that I wanted to see, and she made sure that we saw them all! She even timed our entry to the Penang Hill funicular so that we could have the very front of the car with a large window to watch our ride up and our descent down. She is delightful, came equipped with water, understood some of our heat limitations, cranked up the a/c for us and knew where to drive, park, and arrive to maximize our time there. She wanted us to try samosas and Penang white coffee and hopped out of the car to go to a vendor so that we could try them. This is my second world cruise, so I have encountered many guides and she is by far the winner and the most perfect of them all! In one day, we visited the reclining Buddha, all levels of the Kek Lok Si temple, a Burmese and Thai temple, the Penang funicular , the Armenian street art, tasted treasures of Penang and felt like we had a real understanding of the entire city and it’s outskirts.

  Fun, well organized private tour of Penang. What a great place. I had an itinerary and the driver had an itinerary and we combined the best of both and saw everything.

  I had only a couple of days to explore Penang, so for a day tour, this was perfect. It was private because I was traveling solo, so I liked the fact that I had a lot of freedom to explore, definitely I wouldn't have been able to see all I saw on my own means. So it was so worth it! I think part of the great experience had to do with my tour guide Joey Tan, he was communicative from the start, confirming pick up time and sending pictures of the car and himself so I could easily identify him, he took me to cool places to shop, which were basically the places I was looking for to go to, so it was perfect, he provided a good level of information about the culture and population and daily life in Penang, he pointed me to the most touristic places, but also to some hidden gems, took me to a great place to eat, was a considerate and responsible driver, and overall a great and pleasant guide. I really enjoyed my day at Penang and I feel so encouraged to come back and explore even more.

  We were very lucky to get an outstanding guide Joey. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. Always explaining more than normal and extremely polite. If you can request him you’ll be more than pleased.
