Yala harbours 215 bird species including six endemic species of Sri Lanka. The number of mammals that has been recorded from the park is 44, and it has one of the highest leopard densities in the world.

You can see wild life animals specially Leopard, Sloth Bear, Elephants, Spotted Deers,Crocodiles, Wild Boars, Wild Buffalos, Sambur Deers and lot of animals and nature. There are so much beautiful places to see.

YALA (යාල) NationalPark is the most visited and Secondlargest national park in Sri Lanka, bordering the Indian Ocean. Including Sri Lankan Elephant, 44 species of mammals are resident in Yala National Park,and it has one of the highest Leopard densities in the world .so many individual Leopards are estimated to roam in Block I.The Eelephant herd of Yala contains 100–150 individuals.The Sri Lankan Slothbear, Leopard, Elephant, and Wildwaterbuffalo are all threatened mammals that Yala harbours. Although water buffaloes are indigenous to Sri Lanka, most populations contain genes of the domestic stock or have descended from feral populations. The elephant population of the park varies seasonally. Early morning first 2 hours and the day ended last 2 hours is the golden hours for the leopard spots. Didn’t spot a leopard unfortunately on our 7 hour safari trip, but saw lots of other wildlife which was just as impressive! Our guide Nissanaka was great!

Amazing while day Safari! Our guide was friendly, fun, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to take us around the park. He even worked one hour over time to show us 2 leopards at the end of the day. He showed respect for the wildlife and we got to come up close with several elephants. We had a 2 hour lunch break from 12-2pm when the park is closed where he served delicious home cooked srilankan curry. Memories of a lifetime.

Great experience for a safari in Yala park. The driver was very experienced and we saw elephants (even a baby elephant), a leopard and a bear!! I can only recommend.

Such an amazing experience! We had a leopard come right up to our jeep and lay down right in front of us. I didn't expect to get up so close. Truely amazing. We also saw a sloth bear, an elephant, buffalo, deer, mongoose, dung beetle, and a huge amount of different birds.

Unforgettable experience. We saw so many animals and our guide was the best, he made sure we were first at the entrance and that we had enough time with every animal we encountered. He provided us with a delicious lunch and we had plenty of snacks and cool water during the whole safari. Thank you so much for the amazing experience!
