Ahu Vaihu
In Vaihu, a replica of the ancient villages where our ancestors lived was made, in order to know what their daily life was like and the various structures that made it up, such as chicken coops, stone gardens, boat houses, among others.
Ahu Akahanga
Oral history, which is the main source of history on the island, tells that the remains of the first king of Rapa Nui, Hotu Matu'a, lie there, who are missing. You can also see an original village with its structures and platforms, with moai in front of it.

5.00This was the best possible way to experience and learn from a wonderful guide Aranui. He was perfect for a young 9 year old boy, an adult, and 2 seniors! Just know that in addition to the fee, you each need National Parks tickets. He helped us to get them.

5.00It was a very good introduction to the moai and the island. Mixed with legends and stories. The pick-up could have been communicated better, e.g. via WhatsApp. They collected other participants before me and I waited for 45 min without knowing if the tour is taking place. But once it started, it was great :-)

3.00This would not be the best tour operator for this experience. The guide arrived in a small, old truck, which barely fit the 5 passengers. Also, the guide advised me that my Viator ticket was the only cost involved for the tour, when in fact, you also have to pay a National Park fee. This caused major delays. It was the fault of Viator and the tour operator for not communicating properly on this important detail.

5.00Great tour led by an amazing young local guide named Nico. Several important and spectacular sights are included, as well as some time at the end at a beautiful beach, where you can enjoy the beach proper or stay back in a beautiful park area with shade, food, and beverage options. I’d do this tour again—and any others with Nico!

4.00On 10 May 2024 visiting Rapa Nui (Easter Island) we were on a full day tour provided by Mahinatur company. This tour was purchased in Novemvber 2023 via Viator. The tour covered the following places: Rano a Raraku, Tongariki, Akahanga, Pitokura, Anakena. From the morning till lunch time the weather was OK and we visited several major places. But after the lunch time, the weather changed having sometimes heavy rain with strong wind especially visiting magnetic stone and sand beach (Anakena). Having relatively high precipitation in that place it is impossible to get perfect weather conditions when the booking is made well in advance. This tour was booked through a third party, Viator and their price was almost 2.5 times more expensive that buying the same tour from Mahinatur directly.
