Teror

Located in the northern region of the island of Gran Canaria, the town of Teror is one of the oldest inhabited centers of the seven Canary Islands. Founded after the apparition of the Virgin in 1481 and declared a Marian town at the end of the 16th century, Teror has a vast religious heritage that includes a basilica, convents and houses of noble families. Calle Real de la Plaza has been the social and commercial epicenter of this town for five centuries.

Nicely renovated Ikea apartment without air conditioning .

You will stay in a renovated apartment complex with 5 floors. Fully Ikea Furnished with some wear points such as the sofa-bed upholstery, which had some defects. Please note... No air conditioning!!! We were here from 28 Oct to 4 Nov 2025 at temperatures of 26 to 32 degrees and at night 21 to 22 degrees. It was just hard to hold out then! Unless you can stand the heat very well! However, all aluminum windows have double glazing and aluminum shutters on the outside, which keeps the heat or the sun out somewhat. You don’t have to put anything over you at night. There is a pretty large and shared roof terrace with reclining and seating. There are 2 apartments with a private roof terrace! The polishing could be better, for example a white toilet brush with brown stains in it is a serious minus. You don't look out over the sea, but just against other buildings. Pros: you are 2 minutes walk from the sea and the promenade with numerous food and drink outlets. Breakfast and dinner with sea view are delicious. Ca 16 min walk to large bus station on the harbor for to Playa del Ingles or Maspalomas. Approx 12 min walk to bus stop at large shopping center for trip to Puerto del Nieves. In short: if you are here in winter this is a fairly good location, but in the middle of summer I couldn't keep it out.

The Poema del Mar Aquarium was truly amazing, but the rest of the excursion was a complete disappointment – definitely not up to TUI standards. We had just under two hours to visit the aquarium, which is simply not enough if you really want to see everything properly and take in all the information. That said, the aquarium itself was absolutely fantastic and highly recommended. The rest of the tour, however, was terrible. You are taken to a so-called "restaurant," which is basically just a shed, where everyone is crammed together at one long table on stools that were far too low, with no air conditioning. The only ventilation came from open windows, while the outside temperature was 34 degrees. Here we were served the worst food we have ever had. The meat was dry and stringy, the fish was dry and inedible, the potatoes were far too salty, the bread rolls seemed to have been reheated in the microwave, and so on. The red wine was served from open, unlabeled bottles, so there was no way of knowing what it actually was. After this disappointing meal, we had a short 10-minute drive to Aguimes. There we were given 45 minutes to explore the town and visit the church. The church was closed, and apart from that there was absolutely nothing to see or do. Most of us ended up sitting on the square in front of the church waiting until it was finally time to be taken back to the hotel. On the way back, we were asked three times to give a tip for the bus driver. Honestly, you’re better off just buying a ticket for the aquarium online and arranging your own transfer, or renting a car for the day. That way, you can drive around the island a bit afterwards and have a nice meal somewhere – it would cost about the same as this excursion. We paid €154.00 for two people for this tour.

No matter what it says on your ticket, Poema del Mar Aquarium Ticket is definitely not included it's just a tour in the north of Gran Canaria

The towns are nice but the lunch is the worst food that we’ve eaten on any of the Canary Islands. Tour would better off without the included lunch.

Actually, I am very skeptical about aquariums, but my grandson loves sharks and where else can he see a live shark swimming. It was an exciting experience with plenty of space for the big fish, not just the sharks. The whole aquarium is exciting for children and again and again the nose is pressed against the glass pane to see even more. The hints about which fish are also given in German, so also a bit of further education for the parents. The restaurants are cleverly distributed throughout the aquarium, the food rather fast food but value for money very good. We spent almost 3 hours there, in the parking garage of the shopping center right next door we could park for free. Overall a clear recommendation if you plan an excursion with children.

Pickup was on time and the trip guide was fluent in at least four languages and was very detailed about each location we went too. We had a fabulous time.

We enjoyed the visits to various towns on Gran Canaria. The lunch was one of the best that we have ever enjoyed on tours around the world, and included wine and water with the three generous courses. We found the guide speaking in Spanish, English and German a little difficult to follow on occasions. Would definitely recommend.

The tour had some good and bad points. Good - we were taken to a variety of places, giving a good sense of the geography of North Gran Canaria - good lunch for a bus tour Bad - very little information provided on the Island history, geography, industry, etc. The guides told us what time to return to the bus, led us to a shop and that was about it.

Picked up late 0852 and driven another 25 mins to transfer to a smaller bus-approx.40 passengers. No commentary during pickup or the transfer. The tour guide spoke in 3 languages and it seemed we were less informed for details or island tidbits due to extensive translations that became annoying . Lunch was TERRIBLE-fish soup was ok but the entree was either chicken or fish. Chicken had zero flavoring and a side of fries (frozen kind then heated) desert was some jello/pudding type cake or an ice cream cone (frozen from the box). Fish entree was the same. We stopped in 4 towns-tour guide gave a short review before getting off the bus, led us to a church or town center-brief overview and told us when to be back. I’ve been on MANY Viator tours and this was the least enjoyable.
