EzZitouna Mosque

The Zitouna Mosque, or Mosque of the Olive Tree, is the main mosque in the medina of Tunis. Attached to Malikism, it is the oldest and largest sanctuary in the capital of Tunisia. Built on an area of some 5,000 m2, the mosque has nine entrances and has 184 ancient columns mainly from the Carthage site.

Dar Lasram

Architecturally, the Dar Lasram, with an area of 2,250 m2, is an example of a traditional Tunisian house: on the ground floor the shop and the service house, upstairs the main house, on the upper level the guest house. The palace is divided between the Medina Safeguarding Association and the Tahar-Haddad Cultural Club in the store.

Went on a tour of the Medina by Saber. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and fun! No one else had signed up for the tour so it was a brilliant private tour. Learned so much about the history of the Medina along with some stellar views. Would definitely recommend to do!

Saber is an outstanding guide! The tour was super interesting and informative and focused on details and stories beyond the usual tourist informations. You must not miss this if you are in Tunis and Saber is an incredibly knowledgeable and wonderful guide. He even helped me before the tour to find out taxi rates and currency related stuff. It was the best tour I chose on our cruise of 15 tours, Tunis is so incredibly beautiful, be prepared to be astounded by art, craftsmanship and the hidden corner of Tunis with Saber!

Unfortunately the tour guide was more interested in us going to 2 shops -surely related to him- than actually being able to tour and know different sectors of the Medina, as well as the central square of the city

We recommend this guided tour of the Medina to anyone visiting Tunis. We appreciated both the preparation of the Saber guide in telling us both historical backgrounds and in dealing with less classic topics, to have a floury of Tunis and its culture. We took the tour in Italian at the end of our 5-day stay in Tunis, but we also recommend it to those who have just arrived in the city.

Professional, competent, attentive to our needs and interests. Very patient as his name indicates! We decided together what to visit given the limited time available. He recommended great places to taste typical Tunisian cuisine and helped us choose souvenirs to take home. The best guide we could find!
