EzZitouna Mosque
The Zitouna Mosque, or Mosque of the Olive Tree, is the main mosque in the medina of Tunis. Attached to Malikism, it is the oldest and largest sanctuary in the capital of Tunisia. Built on an area of some 5,000 m2, the mosque has nine entrances and has 184 ancient columns mainly from the Carthage site.
Dar Lasram
Architecturally, the Dar Lasram, with an area of 2,250 m2, is an example of a traditional Tunisian house: on the ground floor the shop and the service house, upstairs the main house, on the upper level the guest house. The palace is divided between the Medina Safeguarding Association and the Tahar-Haddad Cultural Club in the store.

5.00Highly recommended. After half a day in the medina with Saber we had a good working knowledge of the history of Tunis and of the souks, and an overview of the different trades and professions practised there. The hat-makers' souk (Souk Echaouachia) was particularly interesting. Saber conveyed all this information in an easy, non-didactic manner, in impeccable English, and still managed to sound enthusiastic even though he must have done this tour scores of times.

5.00Went on a tour of the Medina by Saber. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and fun! No one else had signed up for the tour so it was a brilliant private tour. Learned so much about the history of the Medina along with some stellar views. Would definitely recommend to do!

5.00You must not miss this if you are in Tunis and Saber is an incredibly knowledgeable and wonderful guide. He even helped me before the tour to find out taxi rates and currency related stuff. It was the best tour I chose on our cruise of 15 tours, Tunis is so incredibly beautiful, be prepared to be astounded by art, craftsmanship and the hidden corner of Tunis with Saber!

3.00Unfortunately the tour guide was more interested in us going to 2 shops -surely related to him- than actually being able to tour and know different sectors of the Medina, as well as the central square of the city
