It's not often that you can visit a winery in the heart of a city! Berkeley has been home to what we call 'urban wineries' for almost 20 years. Although these producers don't own any vineyards of their own, they work directly with grape growers from all around northern California.

It is important to note that I am very selective about my choice of wines and wineries. With thousands of wineries in the state, many small, fine wine oriented producers are overlooked by large scale industrial operations. I like to champion true artisans and support small businesses!

Learn how to appreciate the nuances of wine while we talk farming, vintage variation, and traditional winemaking practices at Berkeley’s renowned urban wineries. No topic is off limits and no question too basic! My goal is to introduce you to delicious, locally made wines and provide you with the lexicon needed to discuss wine on your own terms- hopefully you'll even become comfortable enough to hold a conversation with a restaurant sommelier! We’ll spend about an hour at each winery tasting through a flight of their wines, and snacks are included! (vegetarians are welcome) Only six guests per tour to allow for an intimate and personalized experience. All wineries we visit are open air and/or have great ventilation, and are dog friendly! The evenings in Berkeley can get chilly, so please bring a jacket if you are sensitive to the cold. If you don't see the day or time that fits your schedule, feel free to message me so we can find something that works for you!

We had so much fun drinking wine in the wine ghetto of Berkeley! She took us to two different wineries and loved both of them. It was great to learn about wine from someone who is clearly such an expert. Definitely recommend!

We were looking for excursions during our time in the bay and lucked out to find this tour with Elisabeth! She is so knowledgeable about wine and really opened our minds to wine from outside of Napa!

We visited on a trip up from LA and could not have been more impressed. This was so much more than we expected from a wine tour! We loved Elizabeth and would love to take one of her other tours next time

We went on one of Elisabeth’s tours in Napa and liked it so much that we decided to book this Berkeley experience since we are close by in the south bay. It was another great experience, we had delicious wines and it was really cool to explore the winery district in the middle of a city!

The tour was really great! I didn’t expect there to be wineries and such good wine in Berkeley. Elisabeth was super knowledge and really approachable when we asked novice questions about wine. It was so great we booked for another similar tour with her.

I live in the East Bay and had no idea there were wineries in Berkeley! I was looking for something fun to do for my friend's birthday and am so glad I found this experience. Elisabeth was very welcoming and helpful and we had a blast trying the wines made locally. We are definitely going to check out her offerings up in Napa.

This was such an amazing experience, we had a blast. Elizabeth was very accommodating and we learned more about wine than I can possibly fit into my brain. Will definitely be booking one of her Napa tours in the near future !
