Your Half Day Dolphin & Wildlife Cruise begins as you’re welcomed aboard the Bay Explorer at Tauranga waterfront jetty. You will explore the Bay of Plenty coastline where we will showcase the amazing diversity of marine wildlife including dolphins swimming along side our vessel. Watch seasonal seabirds, penguins, seals, whales, sunfish, school fish, sharks, orca...even turtles!

Our dolphin & wildlife cruise is tailored to those wanting a genuine kiwi experience in nature. It’s a story about our human intrigue with amazing marine animals and their habitat. Participate by searching on the large top deck for that once in a lifetime wildlife encounter. We have limited our passenger numbers for comfort and to enable a more personal experience. Our large spacious boat is also ideal for families.

The Captain and experienced crew lust to share their marine knowledge with you. Don’t forget your camera as we are able to get up close to wildlife, making it a photographer’s dream.

I had such a wonderful experience with Bay Explorer! The staff was very friendly and full of information. I really appreciated the diligence of the team to ensure we see wildlife. I enjoyed that there were others on the boat, but it did not feel crowded. The staff kept us updated on possible wildlife sightings and our time. It was a beautiful day on the water.

Great time lovely staff and not to crowded so got amazing views of the whales out at sea for 5 hours and loved every minute.

Riding along with dolpins was azaming . I wish i could touch the dolphins, ooh there also crusing fast . What an adventure .

The highlight was definitely when a pod of dolphins swam alongside the boat, leaping and spinning in the water. It felt magical to see these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat, and the experience was made even better by the captain’s effort to get us closer to the action without disturbing the animals.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience on our dolphin tour! The boat was spacious and comfortable, and the crew was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about marine life. The highlight of the trip was spotting orcas right in the harbor—a completely unexpected and breathtaking surprise! Once we were out at sea, we saw plenty of dolphins swimming alongside the boat, playing in the waves, and putting on an unforgettable show. This tour exceeded all expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing wildlife experience on the water!

This was a great trip! Only about 15 of us on the boat, it was a beautiful day and our hosts were so nice! We saw so many dolphins and a few little penguins, it was super chill and we loved it!

Very exciting and fun, great crew who spotted the best areas to see lots of dolphins and it was hard deciding where to take pictures or the angle to capture as many a ti iTunes that dolphins provided for our pleasure

We had a great half day trip with Emily and Jamie and were fortunate to see a large pod of about 150 dolphins, after seeing a smaller pod. In addition, we saw penguins which was a bonus. Excellent and informative crew. Thanks Emily and Jamie for a wonderful experience.
