Half-day horseback excursion takes a total of 5 hours to-and-from San Miguel, and includes transportation, comprehensive instruction, riding lesson, 2.5-hours of riding time plus rest stops, and one delicious ranch style meal prepared right after the ride, at one of the casitas, back at the homestead. All of our horseback adventures are suitable for kids as young as 2 years of age, and our eldest guests have been 84 years young!

Dress code: Recommend wearing comfortable laced shoes or boots (no flip-flops or sandals), long pants, long- sleeve shirt or light jacket, & sunblock (cowboy hats are available for purchase at the ranch).

WEIGHT LIMIT: 250 lbs or 113 KG
Guides are authorized to limit clients when galloping and ascending to the upper part of the canyon for safety reasons.

The first part of our excursion begins down in the mouth of the canyon along the edge of the river. As we ride we will have the opportunity to cross the river at several points which is always great fun! Throughout the ride those who wish to have some exciting gallops will have several opportunities to do so. After this rest stop we continue on our trusty steeds up-and-out of the canyon until reaching it's spectacular cliffs. Here we make a 20 minute pause break in order to take some completely spectacular photos. It is also here that whoever wishes to will have the opportunity to rappel off the sheer 150 foot-high cliff faces! Then we continue over the plains and amongst the cattle. After a short while we reach a further edge of the canyon and begin a 40 minute descent back down to it's rocky bottom, where we once again find the winding river named La Virgen which we will continue to cross at several more points. For the grand finale the ladies back at the ranch will have ready for us one of the most delicious organic ranch-style meals that you will ever experience. Guaranteed to be one of the best meals you can possibly find in San Miguel de Allende!

5.00Incredible experience, I would repeat it many times; Yun (the guide) was excellent with us, everything was very organized and fun, the included food was delicious, 100000% recommended to get to know a side of San Miguel de Allende that many do not know.

5.00We did the half day tour , it was really well organised , very safe, an amazing crew and beautiful scenery. After the ride there was a stop for lunch at a local farm, wow we were hungry!

5.00We had the most amazing day with Coyote Canyon Adventures. My husband, son (age 13) and I were blissed out from it for days. The tour guide Rodrigo makes you feel confident about riding the horses and learning to gallop (which we all tried for the first time). The horses are beautiful and well-cared for. The many cowboys who accompanied us took great care to make sure we were safe and entertained with history about the beautiful canyon and many songs! And then we had a homemade lunch at a house nearby. It was magical. Would highly recommend.

5.00Loved it! Easy horses and guides that gave very clear instructions (June was so helpful), beautiful views, great food afterwards. Wear long sleeves and bring sunscreen (maybe a GoPro too). Definitely recommend to riders of all skill levels

5.00Half day horseback riding with Coyote Canyon was one of the highlights of our trip to San Miguel! We had my Mom (age 80) and two teenagers (aged 15 and 12) and everyone was paired up with a great horse. Coyote Canyon went out of their way to make sure everyone was safe and well supervised: we had a total of 8 cowboys for our group of 10 guests, plus a bunch of silly dogs who made for great entertainment along the way. We rode through beautiful and quite technical terrain: lots of great photos and amazing views along the canyon! The lunch afterwards was hosted at a rustic local hacienda on a nearby farm featuring delicious and very traditional Mexican fare: all of the vegetables were grown on the property. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a local ecotourism adventure!!! Thank you Coyote Canyon!

5.00It was the most incredible experience ever! I went solo and still had the best time - it’s a true 2.5 hour horseback ride and it felt amazing to go all the way up the canyon and back down and how incredible the horses and instructors were. Frederico was incredible and took so many photos and videos of everyone while also teaching us new things about San Miguel. Would do this again a million times!

5.00Went with my family on a half day horseback riding experience. This is our 2nd time making a booking with Coyote Canyon Adventures as we had such a great time last year on their Sunset horaeback ride. This is a longer experience that we did, and you have the option to gallop with the horse! Was my 1st time galloping and never felt unsafe. They are extremely kind, professional, safe, and friendly people! If you are considering going horseback riding in the San Miguel area I highly recommend Coyote Canyon Adventures!
