Temple of Demeter
History comes alive at the ancient temple of Demetra, in Sagri Village, dated 530 BC, and dedicated to the goddess of agriculture. Built on the edge of a fertile Naxian valley, as the first Greek temple constructed entirely of marble (its roof as well), it’s of even greater historical importance. Please note : On Tuesdays the temple is closed.A visit to a traditional pottery workshop will be added instead

Chalki Village, where after a pleasant stroll, visit the hundred-year-old family owned distillery, which still produces Naxos’ well-known Kitron liqueur.

5.00Alex was a wonderful tour guide and had a great knack for “reading the room” with our kids (7/11/13 year olds). The time spent at each stop was well-balanced- not too long or short. The locals at the locations were welcoming and informative. This was a wonderful way to get to know the essence of Naxos and see the interior of the island.

5.00Loved the array of visits throughout beautiful Naxos with Alex. Amazing tastings, visits with local businesses, and viewings of historical sites. Alex was easy going, fun and a pleasure to spend the day with my 2 adult sons.

5.00Great introduction to the island of Naxos. Well worth the price. Our guide Dimitri was great. After our tour we now have a mu h better idea of what we want to do and where we want to go.
