Experience the rejuvenating powers of the world-famous mud bath & sulphur spas at Hell’s Gate. Used by local Maori for over 800 years, open and clean your skin by lathering it in the unique mud, before exfoliating and cleansing with a soak in the sulphur spa. While you relax, take the opportunity to admire the geothermal reserve. Your body and soul will feel revitalized after this soothing experience.

We recommend that women do not use our bathing facilities whilst pregnant. However, it is an individual’s choice and we recommend that you seek advice from your health professional if you are wanting to bathe.

Not recommended for travelers with heart problems or other serious medical conditions

The minimum age for the Mud Bath is 2.5 years, and for the Sulphur Spa is 6 months.

Children are considered those aged 5 -15. Under 4s are free when accompanied by a paying adult.

A truly unique experience & we are so glad we included it to our trip. Staff were friendly & helpful. We went on a cooler, overcast day and it was amazing.

This is my first mud bath experience and it was super fun. 20 minutes as such is pretty short to thoroughly enjoy the experience but we did spend some time in the warm pool after our mud bath. Facility was clean and there were sufficient shower rooms. Everything was as listed.

Great experience and easy access and parking. Highly recommended for family day trip from Auckland. Friendly staffs took great photos for our family, a wonderful memory for all of us.

I had an Amazing time the Sulfur mud is truly healing for the soul , you have to come to Rotovegas to enjoy this spiritual experience I’m definitely coming back 😁
