  Our guide Finn was excellent. He informed us of the history of Finland from the 12 century thru the present. The country that occupied Finland & their influence on the culture of Finance. The town of Provoo was interesting along with its history. We also visited a number of sites in Helsinki after Provoo. A great day with Finn. Do not miss this experience, highly recommend.

  This was a great tour of all the top sites in Helsinki and the beautiful, small, but important, town of Porvoo. Tour was efficient and the history was comprehensive, even funny at times. The stories were engaging, even for our small children who also greatly enjoyed the tour. Five stars.

  Interesting tour, learned a lot. The guide told us a lot about Finland history as well as culture. He answered all our questions. Porvoo was interesting, we got to walk around and check out the shops. Because of the time of year and weather the shops were pretty quiet but I’m sure in the summer months they are packed.

  This was a great tour. Not only did we have our own driver but it decided to snow in Helsinki and Porvoo for the day. This made it all the more magical. Finba was our driver and 4 other travellers from Brisbane Australia joined us. We started in Helsinki first. Fin drove us all around stopped for us to walk around and take photos, none of us cared that it was snowing. We then went on our way up to Porvoo. This was like something out of an old movie. Very medieval looking with modern shops and lots of quaint little shops for us to check out. We went back to Helsinki for more stops and then back to hotels. Fin was full of knowledge about Finland and was very friendly and mindful of our comfort. He engaged in other conversations with us and we had lots of laughs. I would highly recommend Fin and Helsinki tours for future travellers. We had a great day. Thank you Fin for making our visit to Helsinki very memorable. Stephanie and Russell, Brisbane, Australia.

• Perfect way to get a day of highlights in both Helsinki and Porvoo

  This tour was perfect in terms of time spent seeing highlights in Helsinki and time spent in Porvoo. Finnbar was an engaged, informed and enthusiastic guide. The time spent driving to and from Porvoo was time well spent as he regaled us with historical anecdotes and observations on Finnish culture and customs. Our group of four was combined with another group of two in a minivan, which worked out fine (although, do be aware that minivans in Finland often involve a third row that requires its occupants to have good knees and decent flexibility to get in and out). My only suggestion would be for the tour operator and/or Viator to improve the reservation process so that a specific pick-up/drop-off time can be confirmed at the time of reservation. That gave us a bit of heartburn at the outset, although all worked out perfectly, but I see it as a recurring theme in some of the comments. Finnbar is a wonderful guide who gives a lovely tour, so I’d like to see that logistical headache addressed for him.

  We booked this tour spontaneously and and enjoyed a beautiful half day with Finn! He told us about Finnish history and showed us amazing places!

  Got to see parts of Helsinki and Porvoo we would have otherwise missed. Porvoo is definitely worth a visit. Was so picturesque in the snow and ice. Finbar is a great guide.

  Great info packed tour of main sights and Finnish culture. Really interesting to hear Finnish history. Porvoo is magical.
