One of the most hiked mountain on shore Atitlan Lake. From that point it's possible to watch the sunrise and the volcanic chain of Guatemala. This mountain is also known as Indian Nose.

We are going to pick you up at some spots that we have as meeting point in San Juan la Laguna or San Pedro la Laguna. But, If you stay in a different village that we have not decribed here, may we can arrange your transfer or an any other conexion, it´ll has extra cost because we have to take you by boat. But everything is posible, just please let us know. This hike is one of the most requested tours we have. It is very accesible and short length, the trail has three sections, down, flat and the last part is steep, but it worth to watch an amazing sunrise from the top. We will see the volcanoes chain, lake atitlan and the villages surounded the lake. The transfer takes 30 minutes from San Juan or San Pedro to Santa Clara and then 35 minutes to hike up on the summit. After this tour we come back at the town in San Juan la Laguna and we serve you an delicious guatemalan breakfast and real local and organic coffee in our partner coffee shop with the lake view.

Honestly I'm not as physically fit as I would like to be. I thought I could do this hike but I truly couldn't. It took me longer to complete the hike and I held back the group. The tour guide Fransisco was fantastic. He went above and beyond texting me to check in on me when I stayed behind. He even provided me a Gatorade and piece of candy to boost my energy level. After he took the group to the summit and doubled back for me. He was very understanding. He told me not to worry and apologize because many people don't do well with altitude and hike. He broke one of the fallen tree branches to give me a walking stick. He encouraged me and pushed me to make it to the top even when I told him I don't think I can make it and that maybe I should just turn back. I did miss the sunrise but with his help I completed the hike! Which meant an incredible amount to me. Can't recommend the experience enough. The tea at the top was great too. My only advice is prepare for some pretty steep stairs (I'm only 5'2 so they felt steeper?) and wear reliable shoes bc I think my hiking boots saved me too. 10/10 experience and must do if staying in the Lake Atitlan area!!

A little unorganised for my taste. The pickup process was confusing and only communicated super late (the day before). The listing said the tour was in English, the guide knew enough to direct us but not to answer questions. The listing said max group size of 10, there was about 20 of us which included sitting on a wooden stool in the van there instead of a proper seat. The listing said there would be information on the hike (none) and breakfasts after (none). Overall just a bit of a misrepresentation.

Really enjoyed the hike and the view was amazing. A must do in Atitlan! Francisco was an excellent and very responsible guide. We had a person in the group who was struggling and may not have made it up without his help and encouragement.

Our guide picked us up at the designated spot and once we started hiking the mountain, he made sure to check on us and take breaks when necessary. highly recommend the experience.

Great hike to see the volcanos and sunrise. I enjoyed the hot cocoa and information that Francisco provided about the volcanoes and agriculture. I’m a little sore the next day but the hike was a nice workout!
