Victoria’s Chinatown National Historic Site
We do a deep dive in to Canada's oldest Chinatown including visiting heritage sites such as the Chinese Language School, The Gates of Harmonious Interest, and some of the oldest buildings in Western Canada.
Fan Tan Alley
Named after the Chinese gambling game Fan-Tan, the alley was originally a gambling district with restaurants, shops, and opium dens. It is the narrowest street in Canada, only 0.9 meters (35 in) wide. It was designated as a heritage property by the local government in 2001 and remains a popular attraction. Let us take you through this bustling alley and show you the best places to get the iconic picture that visitors love to get!

5.00Best food tour I have ever been on! Erik provided such an amazing experience for the Chinatown walking tour that we wanted to book another tour with him the next day, but it was sold out. He provided not only great knowledge of the restaurants and the community, he obviously has a great rapport with all the restaurant chefs and staff which enhanced the experience at each stop.

5.00A tasty tour with guide Brenda, who knows a lot (and cares a lot) about food, especially regional cooking. She made the tour funny and fun. We ate stuff from all around the world -- from Mexico to India to Italy -- and ended up stuffed (!).

5.00We went on a Sunday Mid morning trip - what a great adventure! I was so glad to take this at the beginning of our trip to Victoria so we could get a lay of the land and maybe get some good ideas of where to eat later. Loved every bite we had - the dumplings were fantastic, the chocolates were great. Our guide was so personable and informative- we really appreciated every thing!

5.00My husband and I had a great time with Brenda on our “Hip” food tour. We enjoyed the number of tastings and were surprised with the variety - not all Chinese dishes even though we were mainly in China Town. Brenda was a terrific host - lots of fun stories mixed in with a little history. Perfect for this type of tour. We participate in a food tour every time we travel and are so glad we experienced an Off the Eaten Track tour. We highly recommend to other foodies!
