Hue Imperial City (The Citadel)
uilt from 1804 by King Gia Long and finished in 1833 by King Minh Mang. This area was used as living and working quarter for Kings and Royal Family Members of the Nguyen Dynasty until 1945, and was recognized by UNESCO as WORLD CULTURAL HERITAGE. This is a must see place, that not to be missed if you travel to Hue and love to learn about country history and Vietnamese royal culture.
Thien Mu Pagoda
Located on the north shore of the Perfume River about 3km from the Imperial Citadel. You can get there by dragon boat along the Perfume River, or for those feeling more energetic, a pleasant bicycle ride. The Thien Mu Pagoda is regarded as the unofficial symbol of the former imperial capital. Today it is the home of the Austin Motor Vehicle which drove Thich Quang Duc to his self-immolation in Saigon in 1963 in protest against the Diem regime. It is still home to many monks and a holy site visited by many everyday.

5.00The imperial city tour was informative and interesting. The architecture and gardens are beautiful and we learnt a lot about Vietnamese history and culture. Takes a few hours Can be very hot- take hat, water and sun screen.

5.00Hue - what a lovely elegant ‘calmer’ city. Really enjoyed our morning with our very gracious guide, Linh. He let has set the pace- always ready with information or answering questions. At the end of the tour he recommended a Vietnamese restaurant in the old town where he dropped us off and where I had a very traditional Vietnamese lunch - live the cuisine of this country

5.00The tour of the Citadel and Forbidden City was very informative and enlightening and our tour guide was very knowledgeable. Topped off with a cruise on The Perfume River which was very nice. I do recommend the Private Tour as you’re up close and personal.

5.00Our tour guide Nheih was amazing. Her English was perfect and her cultural and historical knowledge was amazing. She also went out of her way to give us extra information about the city, restaurants etc. really recommendable tour and guide!
