Around 11:00 PM – 12:30 AM, our team will pick you up from your accommodation in Banyuwangi. Before heading to the hiking point, all participants will undergo a brief health check as required by local government regulations. Once completed, the journey continues to Paltuding Post, the starting point of the hike.
Paltuding is the starting point of the Ijen hike, located at the base of the mountain within the Ijen Plateau. Here, travelers will meet their guide, receive safety gear like gas masks and headlamps, and prepare for the trek. The cool mountain air and quiet surroundings set the tone for the adventure ahead, as hikers begin their ascent toward the famous Ijen Crater and its mesmerizing Blue Fire.

5.00Climbing Ijen in the middle of the night was exhausting and freezing, but the moment I saw the blue fire glowing in the dark, I forgot everything. Watching the sunrise slowly light up the crater felt surreal. Tired legs, full heart. Absolutely unforgettable.

5.00Waking up at midnight was not easy, especially in the cold mountain air but it was all worth it. Hiking in the dark with only small headlamps lighting the path felt surreal. And then, seeing the blue fire glowing in the distance made all the sleepiness disappear. It truly felt like witnessing something rare and magical, a moment I’ll never forget.

5.00The Ijen journey is a contrast you can feel on your skin. The hike begins in freezing air, but constant movement keeps your body warm. As we get closer to the blue fire, the heat becomes real almost surprising. When sunrise comes, the cold slowly returns as we stop walking and simply stand there, taking it all in. 5.00I starting the hike in the middle of the night felt quiet and surreal. Little by little, I watched the darkness fade as the sun slowly rose. Seeing the green lake appear with the first light of morning was incredibly peaceful. Experiencing the change from night to day so close made Ijen feel truly special.

5.00We arrived at Ijen with our guide, Bintang, right on schedule. The pickup and timing were perfectly organized, we reached the area around 1 a.m., giving us enough time to rest and prepare our energy before the gate opened at 2 a.m. The hike itself was tiring, but absolutely worth it. To distract us from the exhaustion, we chatted along the way, and Bintang’s friendly personality made the journey feel lighter. He shared many great recommendations for other destinations beyond Ijen, which made us appreciate the experience even more. Thank you, Bintang, for making this trip so memorable.
