On April 28th, I was carrying a heavy backpack to buy a ticket from Salvador to Mar Grande. Just before I was going to buy the ticket, I was stopped by a guy wearing a blue T-shirt with the words “cassiturismo” written on it who said that Morro de São Paulo is better than Mar Grande. When he talked me into it, I decided to go to Morro de sao paulo instead. I was talked into buying a boat ticket at the tourist office across the street. The ticket costs 100 reais. I was taken to a wooden boat packed with people. I only found a seat in the sun. The boat did not take me to Morro de São Paulo, but to Ilha dos Frades! When we arrived on the island, I refused to buy a ticket to go ashore to a restaurant for more money. I waited in a large waiting room without water for two hours! Finally the boat took us to a restaurant in Itaparica, where I left and finally took a taxi (60 reais) to Mar Grande! Why did their representative persuade the old man with the heavy luggage not to go to Mar Grande? It seemed like they were just trying to fill the boat to the max. I should get my 100 reais back and compensation!! The main reason for my complaint is that this was dangerous to my health! The travel company does not respond to my email! Of course I have to write about their travel agency on Tripadvisor and everything! Not enough!! I passed this head office a couple of weeks later and stopped by just to explain how wrong they was. I thought they need to do better on safety by talking their employees into better safety. When I explained to the employee via google search, they contacted a responsible manager. This manager with poor English took me to a meeting room with a couple of managers. I explained what had happened and was offered 50 reais back. I refused to accept the 50 reais. I said they had put me in a dangerous situation by tricking me into joining a cruise ship when I was on my way to Mar Grande! I said I wanted them to talk to all the employees so they don't trick people just to fill a boat! This manager in Cassio said he didn't understand and that I had to show respect. I wasn't looking for money, but that they must improving security by talking to employees! On the way out of the travel agency the owner said in his broken English that they didn't have security in Brazil! PORTUGISE: Negócio ilegal e perigoso. Eu, Morten Laberg, tenho 66 anos e problemas cardíacos. No dia 28 de abril, eu estava carregando uma mochila pesada para comprar uma passagem de Salvador para Mar Grande. Pouco antes de comprar a passagem, fui parado por um cara vestindo uma camiseta azul com as palavras "cassiturismo" escritas, que disse que Morro de São Paulo é melhor que Mar Grande. Quando ele me convenceu, decidi ir para Morro de São Paulo. Fui convencido a comprar uma passagem de barco no posto de turismo do outro lado da rua. A passagem custou 100 reais. Fui levado a um barco de madeira lotado de pessoas. Só consegui um lugar ao sol. O barco não me levou para Morro de São Paulo, mas para a Ilha dos Frades! Quando chegamos à ilha, recusei-me a comprar uma passagem para desembarcar em um restaurante por mais dinheiro. Esperei em uma sala de espera enorme, sem água, por duas horas! Finalmente, o barco nos levou a um restaurante em Itaparica, onde finalmente peguei um táxi (60 reais) para Mar Grande! Por que o representante deles convenceu o senhor com a bagagem pesada a não ir para Mar Grande? Parecia que eles estavam apenas tentando encher o barco ao máximo. Eu deveria receber meus 100 reais de volta e uma indenização!! O principal motivo da minha reclamação é que isso era perigoso para a minha saúde! A agência de viagens não responde aos meus e-mails! Claro que tenho que escrever sobre a agência deles no Tripadvisor e tudo mais! Não é o suficiente!! Passei pela sede algumas semanas depois e parei só para explicar o quanto eu estava errado. Achei que eles precisavam melhorar a segurança, convencendo seus funcionários a melhorarem a segurança. Quando expliquei ao funcionário por meio de uma pesquisa no Google, ele contatou um gerente responsável. Esse gerente, com um inglês ruim, me levou a uma sala de reuniões com alguns gerentes. Expliquei o que havia acontecido e me ofereceram 50 reais de volta. Recusei-me a aceitar os 50 reais. Eu disse que eles tinham me colocado em uma situação perigosa, me enganando para embarcar em um cruzeiro quando eu estava a caminho de Mar Grande! Eu disse que queria que eles conversassem com todos os funcionários para não enganarem as pessoas só para encher o barco! Um gerente em Cassio disse que não entendia e que eu tinha que mostrar respeito. Eu não estava querendo dinheiro, mas que eles estavam melhorando a segurança conversando com os funcionários! Na saída da agência de viagens, o dono disse em seu inglês quebrado que eles não tinham segurança no Brasil!

  The walk is great and very fun. The teams are very attentive, from the transfer to the local guides on the historic tour. My only point is that on the day of the tour, a storm was planned, which, in fact, encountered us on the return, and it ended up damaging the tour. It would have been a good option to postpone it, but, fortunately, everything went well and we watched at the end of the trip a beautiful sunset.

• We recommend Frades Island to spend the whole day.

  Frades Island, it's very cool. Itaparica, we just stopped for lunch. The support of the company TCH Receptivo was excellent, Marcio's service, was spectacular, very attentive.

  Regarding the beaches we visited, they really are very beautiful. However, I have a few points to highlight: - the time spent on Itaparica Island was very short, we had to choose: have lunch or enjoy the beach; - On the journey between Praia dos Frades and Ilha de Itaparica we had to change to a smaller boat, without adequate safety conditions [the access ladder was not fully secured on the larger boat); - The guide responsible was not adequate in his comments regarding the delay and, most importantly, did not monitor the departure of everyone on board. I noticed that, like me, other people were helped only by the sailor and other travelers.

  We took the Ilha dos Frades and Itaparica tour with TCH and the highlight of this tour was Ilha dos Frades, with super clean and clear waters. With fish all along the shore. When leaving the waterway terminal I found it a bit confusing, the guide lacked a bit of information. When we decided to ask, our group had already boarded... everything went well on the boat. I just missed some local information/curiosities along the way. In Itaparica we took a tour with the local guide Edson who was very helpful and took us through some tourist attractions with a lot of historical information. It was worth paying just 25.00 per person. We took beautiful photos and drank the water of "youth"....lol

  We booked the “full day excursion to Ilhas Maravilhas Frades and Itaparica” at a price of €32.50/person, or about R$180. We had a great day! The agency picks you up directly from your hotel and takes you back in the evening. Check with them the time and place of return to take you back to the hotel upstream (it said return at 17:00, we arrived at 17:15 and had waited a few minutes. When we didn't see them arrive we came back on our own and they finally arrived at 17:20. If possible have a network in Brazil to contact them). Both islands are very beautiful and the guide on the boat was very nice. There was a band of musicians on the boat playing some Brazilian sambas. Also, be aware that the boat ride is the only thing included in the price. You will have to pay the tax of 11$R/ person in port for the island dos frades, then 25$R/ person for the island of ataparica. The meal is on the latter (super buffet with lots of choices and very good local produce) at R$70/person without drinks. You can take a short van tour of this island with a really funny and nice guide who spoke Portuguese, Spanish and French, it costs R$25 / person (he will come to ask you directly during the meal). It is written breakfast included but it is only 2 small slices of watermelon I advise you to eat a little before leaving because we Finally this day costs 270$R/person, or about 47€ which is very cheap for such a beautiful day.

  POSITIVE POINTS • All the vans used are excellent, one of them had freshness and delicious aroma; • Great drivers; • Spectacular guide, very well prepared: attentive, spoke with ownership of each tourist point and of any other question raised, fun, simple, and indeed a human being to be observed and valued. NEGATIVE POINTS • Nothing.
