From our meeting point at Norrsken House Kigali, we’ll start our walk toward the Belgian Peacekeepers Memorial. Along the way, you’ll get a feel for Kigali’s clean, well-planned streets and modern architecture. We’ll pass by lively commercial areas, small local shops, and everyday city life unfolding around us.
Belgian Peacekeepers Memorial
At the Belgian Peacekeepers Memorial, we’ll pause to reflect on the history of the 10 Belgian soldiers who were killed at the start of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. The site features a small museum and the preserved bullet-marked building where they made their last stand, offering a powerful glimpse into Rwanda’s past and its journey toward peace.

5.00We were lucky to find Jerry available for this tour when we visited Kigali recently. We wanted to understand Kigali and Rwanda more and Jerry was very helpful in this regard. The walking tour is informative and makes exploring the city much more enjoyable than doing this alone. Jerry has a good understanding of his community and shared it with enthusiasm. I would have no hesitation recommending this tour and Jerry.

5.00Wonderful time with Jerry! He is a very knowledgeable guide and puts a lot of personality in his work, you can see he is in it with his heart! We had great conversations and I learned a lot about Rwanda and life here. He made me feel welcome in this beautiful country! 5.00I had a great tour of Kigali with Darlene. I had only booked the evening before so was delighted that I was able join. I had a solo tour with Darlene, who was so friendly and knowledgeable and took time to explain everything we were visiting, and to answer all of my questions. I took the tour on a Sunday and knew from earlier reviews that the city would be quieter. Whilst I know that Kigali is wonderful when busy and bustling, I also enjoyed exploring the quieter side of the city.

5.00I had an absolutely fantastic time exploring Kigali on foot with our guide, Jeremiah. From start to finish, the experience was smooth, engaging and full of insight. Jeremiah clearly knows the city like the back of his hand and shared so much interesting history, local knowledge and personal stories that really brought Kigali to life. We wandered through vibrant neighbourhoods, visited key landmarks and even stopped at a few hidden gems I never would have found on my own. What made the tour so memorable was Jeremiah’s warm and welcoming nature – he made everyone feel at ease and answered all our questions with genuine enthusiasm. If you're visiting Kigali and want to get a real feel for the city, I honestly can't recommend Jeremiah and this walking tour enough. A top-notch guide and a truly enjoyable way to discover the heart of Rwanda’s capital.

3.00I did this tour only 2 hours after landing from 2 days travel, so was not fully with it. Jerry did well to keep me engaged and was very proud of his city and country. However, the part of Kagali that was covered in a 2 hour walking tour was not particularly interesting and there was no vibrancy, this due to its being a Sunday when not much open so few people about. The tour did highlight the contrasts - we saw the medical university on one street and then walked through a typical neighborhood where it looked like life was tough. On a weekday it would probably be a much better tour.
