You certainly can’t climb Kilimanjaro in a day, but our day tour to this iconic, snow-capped mountain will give you an excellent taster of why Africa’s highest peak is so popular. During the course of the day, we will follow the popular Marangu Route and walk as far as the first hut – the Mandara – where our picnic lunch will be taken. As other trekkers continue upwards, bound for the summit, we will make the descent again and return to Arusha.

After breakfast at your hotel, you will meet your guide, drive to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate (about 1 hour/ 2 Hours), register, and commence the climb. Walk through the rainforest to the Mandara encampment. A side trip to Maundi Crater is a good way to see the surroundings including Northern Tanzania and Kenya. In the rain-forest, look for towering Eucalyptus trees, birdlife, and Colobus monkeys. After lunch, hike back to the park gate and drive back to Moshi or Arusha. Elevation: 1860m/6100ft to 2700m/8875ft Distance: 8km/5mi Hiking Time: 3-4 hours up / 2-3 hours down Habitat: Montane Forest Meals: L. Me and my friend were very satisfied with out trip to Mandara Hut. Our driver was reliable and experienced and picked us in Arusha without any problems. Our guide Godwin was nice and helpful, carried our water bottles, patiently answered our questions and told us interesting facts about local fauna and flora.

It was a one day trip to see the Kilimanjaro and visit a place where coffee is freshly prepared. I wasn't able to see the Kilimanjaro because it was hidden behind the clouds. The guide, Joh, made all efforts for me to see the mountain, moving from one place to another. I thank him for that. The coffee experience was great, they teach you the process of preparing it and then I tasted one of the best coffees I've had in my life.
Great trip up Kilimanjaro from the East gate to Camp 1. Recommended experience

Great local guide made all the difference to turn this to a good climc to Camp 1 but also background info on his country and the Maasai people

Visiting the "Seven Summits" is a dream for every climber. The opportunity to ascend these ancient peaks and absorb their powerful energy is a privilege that not everyone can afford. I was incredibly fortunate to have such an opportunity, climbing nearly 3,000 meters. The natural beauty here is breathtaking, and every step on the slope tests your capabilities. Being on one of the Seven Summits brings a special thrill—it’s a challenge unlike any other. This day was made unforgettable thanks to Eduard, who revealed the magic of the mountain to us. We not only reached the summit but also, thanks to his benevolent assistance, were able to accomplish everything we had planned in Tanzania. Eduard organized our adventure, showed us the first level, and all the wonders of these places. Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience and marvelous adventure!
