The end of March to the end of June is a crucial time in all the floating villages in Siem Reap, as the water levels start to recede and present a unique opportunity for tourists to experience a new perspective. Although the picturesque landscape of the floating community may lose some of its charm during this time, visitors have a chance to immerse themselves in the daily life of the villagers living in the dried season. While some boats may become stuck, and smaller canoes are unable to traverse the jungle forest, these challenges add to the thrill of the experience. The dry season in floating village of Kompong Phluk may not be the ideal time to visit for those seeking postcard-perfect photos, but it offers a chance to witness a facet of the village’s daily life that is not typically seen. As they say, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. We recommend visitors to embrace this rare chance to witness a different facet of this incredible destination and truly get a different taste of life in the village.

Dress code: All visitors are not allowed to wear as shorts as you want for this experience. Please make sure that your knees and shoulders are covered.

For small-group tour is limited to 15 participants to ensure a more personal experience from our guide.

The valid pass of Angkor pass can be used to visit the Beng Mealea temple. So if you have still have it, please bring it with you for its visit. Otherwise, you have to buy a new Angkor pass of 1-day (US$10 per person)

What should to bring: Insect repellent, sunscreen, sun hat.

For lunch, there is a vegetarian option like fried rice vegetable with eggs and fried spring rolls, but no vegan option.

Phnom Kulen National Park

Our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel at between 7:30 am to 8:00 am and take you to purchase a Phnom Kulen ticket and then we head to Phnom Kulen National Park for approximately 1 hour. This journey takes you through rural Cambodian villages, where you may observe locals going about their everyday lives and admire beautiful landscapes such as rice paddies and traditional dwellings. Stop off at the Palm Sugar Village and witness how Cambodian people make their own sugar to supply their families and villages. Afterward, we continue to the hilltop of Phnom Kulen, and our tour guide will take you to the most spectacular tourist attractions in the national park, including the largest and most beautiful waterfalls, the reclining Buddha sculpture, and the River of Thousand Linga. After all the crawling, stop for a picnic at a nearby waterfall, where you can enjoy grilled chicken with seasonal fruits and swimming at the waterfalls.

Prasat Beng Mealea

In the afternoon, we will have lunch at the local restaurant before heading to Beng Melea, the mysterious 12th-century temple in the middle of the jungle. This temple is heavily overgrown with vegetation, trees, lianas, and mosses. This temple is surrounded by a rainforest due to it being abundant for over 300 years. When it is not fully restored, many local and international tourists fall in love with the area.

It is a great experience to know everything important besides Ankor City in Siem Rep. Going to the Montain and to the Lake in the same day may sound too much, but for the experience it is great have both places into the same plan. Besides this, the visit to Beng temple is the perfect match.
