Meet your guide at your hotel in Siem Reap at 8 am. Depart in the morning heading north towards Kulen Mountain through approximately a 2-hour drive in an air-conditioned vehicle. Enjoy the scenic ride along the way as you pass through local villages and verdant tropical forest. You will visit Cambodia’s biggest Reclining Buddha carved on sandstone. The temple is located on top of the hill and can be reached through a flight of steps. Next you will set off to the sacred river of 1000 Lingas. The riverbed is interestingly carved with numerous lingas, a phallic symbol of the Hindu god, Shiva. You will also see some rock carvings along the river depicting Hindu deities. You will continue through another sacred site, the Phnom Kulen Waterfalls. Calm your senses by watching the waterfall tumbling down the rocks. You will have time to wade in its basin and opt to cool-off from the midday sun by swimming on its pool. Discover and learn more about the historical and cultural significance of Phnom Kulen as your expert guide walks you through each of these landmarks. Stop for lunch (at your own account) at a local restaurant along the way before heading back to your hotel.

We had a really great day out. Our tour guide was especially attentive and knowledgeable. My Auntie and Mom do not have the best knees but the guide went out of his way to make sure they were always comfortable.

This day trip was worth getting out of town to see something different! The waterfall was pretty cool to swim in and was a welcome cool-down opportunity! The reclining Buddha was also worth seeing and it was quite nice to see a bit of the local religious culture. Pee (not sure of the spelling!) was great and very knowledgeable and good with the kids. The car was nice and clean and had plenty of cold water available in an ice box! You so need to take some cash though, as lunch isn’t included and if you want to buy a few bits and donate at the temple. Nowhere on the way to get cash out if you don’t have any. Overall, definitely worth a trip out for the day and good for kids!

Amazing experience, and a very big thank you to Vantha and his driver, who were both excellent hosts. This whole trip is incredible and highly recommended. Loved the waterfall and the mountain, particularly the reclining Buddha.

Mr Reaksa arrived to pick us up in the morning directly from our hotel (which wasn't easy to get to) and was very friendly from the start, introducing himself and explaining a little about where we would be going. Kulen Mountain is around 90 minutes from where we stayed but on the way Mr Reaksa bought our tickets for us and filled the journey with his great local knowledge of the area, farming and villagers and some of the history of the countryside. Whilst at the mountain we saw the top of the 1000 Lingas River and learnt about its history, and proceeded to see the Reclining Buddha and the amazing landscape views. He then guided us through the village down to the waterfall, which has got to be one of the most incredible sights we've ever seen. We got up close and Mr Reaksa took some fantastic pictures for us! On the way back we stopped for dinner, where again the food was great, then as an extra we called into the Cambodian Landmine Museum, where could learn even more about the history of Cambodia, the Khymer Rouge, and the work of Aki Ra. Mr Reaksa then dropped us off right outside our hotel for a glorious round trip. If you're lucky enough to see Mr Reaksa in the morning, you're in for a truly amazing day!
